So it's a new chapter for me. I'm going to be writing about Charlton Athletic on Substack.
You can find me here. Excited and daunted in equal measure. I don't want to let anyone down.

I've signed up for an annual sub. I urge everyone else who can afford it, to do so too. As some of the posts above point out, some pretty important things are at stake here. Money where our mouths are, Lifers...
Are we alright to share his posts in here then, or is that wrong. I've subscribed for the month
If the content is behind a paywall then probably best to not share as then there'd be no need for others to subscribe. His twitter posts and any free content are fair game though I reckon .
I have no idea what a Substack is and fear it could be one f**k off sized rabbit hole for me but if it helps keep Rich at his best it’s a small price to pay for those that can afford the subscription. Signing up now and good luck Rich. Like Louis, you are a much loved, valued and respected journalist for all things Charlton - keep feeding our appetites on the inside track!
One rule we should all abide by is no screenshot or cut and paste jobbies…summaries only otherwise what’s the point.
I’ve subscribed - I’ve tended to avoid substacks and patreons for content I might find interesting in the past (on the whole because those who I have engaged with already have successful careers).
With Rich effectively being out of work now, and also and reputable and very good journalist when it comes to all things Charlton (see the Nathan Jones thread) I’m more than happy to support him.
Be interesting to see how he reports on pre-season and the transfer window.
I’ve signed up, we get virtually no decent coverage in the national press and this is an opportunity to support a very good local journalist who provides great coverage. £5 a month is a small price to pay.
This is brilliant news - I really hoped Rich would do this, and he has. If you can, please support this - this is now the only way we'll get decent independent reporting of the club.
There's a guy who was a Huddersfield Town reporter who was let go by the local paper there about a year ago - he set up https://www.weareterriers.com/ and that looks like it's flourishing, with other people on board covering pretty much everything that moves there. I'm sure Rich's new venture will do at least as well.
The bloke has earnt £50 from me based on his previous work and twitter account. For which I have never paid a penny.
So I hope he can continue in the same vein going forward - as much as I enjoy Charlton TV as an expat, it’s important we still have independent coverage of the club, even if to excite / calm the nerves regarding transfers (or managers). Really wish him luck
