I think it's positive to give fans more opportunity to buy kit rather than just the club shop with it's postage being high. Who knows it might bring in some more fans as well if we are successful
Let's hope it is more successful than what we had in Bexleyheath. It has always been a mystery to me as to why our stuff is not more widely accessible.

I strongly believe the Bexleyheath one would have worked with the right unit. The one they took on was tiny with an equally small product range.

Agreed, at the time I thought it would be a winner given that you'd like to think there is a strong Charlton following there.
Small point, but hope it’s on someone’s radar to ensure the 10% Valley Gold discount is still applicable.
The club should want this to work, so immediately limiting customers because they can buy items with a 10% discount from the club shop just wouldn’t make sense.

Great news about the shop, but every time I have tried to get the latest Home shirt from the club shop my size is sold out, so I really hoping that I can get one before the season starts this time around.
Blame castore, most kits have been reduced to £20 they last few seasons though.
Aside from potential retail unit, a free parking park n ride scheme from Bluewater could work well with Championship & above crowds. Good opportunity for Kent folk or people crossing the bridge to have safe parking, ability to shop or eat pre / post game, with a 20-30 min chargeable Valley Express coach transfer to The Valley,
Bluewater has 13,000 parking spaces, there’s a relationship that could be developed there
Have been thinking about this. I really would use the service. Great idea 👍
I wonder if the will be selling match day tickets as that would be handy for those living or working in northwest Kent. I do remember buying tickets from the Bexleyheath store but then I suppose it is just as easy to buy online.

Aren’t most matchday sales done on the internet themes days ? Can’t see it being worthwhile doe to such small numbers being involved.

I think we might be surprised on how many pay on the day.

How would selling tickets at Bluewater, help with on the day buyers ?

Most are with established buyers, but if you’re branching into new markets you need to make it as easy as possible. Bluewater gets lots of overseas visitors and people with no football history. Being able to purchase on a whim and have all that handled by someone else without having to navigate unfamiliar systems and seating plans is appealing. On holiday you can book boat trips online but most people do it via the man in the hut and they’ll be a reason for that.
Definitely worth adding the infrastructure and then monitoring impact. Tickets to our games are one of our key sales, so why immediately limit the sales opportunity from a key sales unit?

Add it as a Valley Express stop?
Yeah good idea, very much different to my question though regards selling tickets there on match days.
Admin wise it'd be a nightmare, they stop selling tickets online otd for a reason.
Thinks it’s great to show our presence somewhere like Bluewater, helps build relationships with the fans/floaters too! Hope it turns into a permanent fixture!
I have been told that the pop up shop is on a three month lease and will close around the start of the season.
wouldnt it make more sense to have it up to christmas?
Itl be 'busy' for a few weeks then very empty i imagine. Theres no way we'd sell enough merch to pay the rent for 6 months. Better off doing 3 months and another down the line if popular.
I doubt we've paid a huge amount for the lease, loads of units at Bluewater are left empty at the moment, shopping centres, once looked at as the death knell for high streets, are themselves being replaced by the convenience of online shopping

I agree and the question isn’t how much business the club does there but what part of it is additional. Very little, I’d imagine. It is still good to be seen.
