Well,on the evidence of this final, all other contenders are pissing in the wind for the next 10 years. We have seen many great finals and rivalries,Borg Macenroe,Laver Rosewall, right up to present day with Roger and his mates slugging it out, this was really on another level,5 and Half hours ,neither giving an inch.If there was a case for declaring a draw this was it.0

Anyone know if the Queens tournament is being televised? We're in Portugal at the moment so don't have access to our usual plethora of channels, but could access them on the laptop and connect it to the TV if needs be0

It was good to see the green, green grass of home tennis again despite the supreme quality 5+ hour final on the clay of Paris.
Excellent win by Kartal who was the special K against Kasatkina who after a poor 1st set against Sonay that the Brighton woman won 6-1, played better to take the 2nd set 6-3 before the British number 3 who is now in the top 50 had the rub of the green as well as several net cords to win 6-3 in the final set. Another top 20 ranked player defeated as Sonay kept going to the final point.
Sonay Kartel, who's father owns a couple of Restaurants in Brighton first took her elder Brother to tennis coaching and Sonay followed at 6 years old.
As it's only the last year that she has raced up the ratings it's difficult to know her ceiling but she said that she wants to be top 30 by December. A cool calm unemotional person compared to many of the highly strung athletic players on the tennis tour.
Boulter and Raducanu are the famous names and it was great to see them win the doubles together and looking happy without the stress of the individual pursuit of singles(with a big team behind them)
Also good to see Jodie Burrage deserve her wild card in taking world 15, Anisimova to 3 sets after injury set backs and women's tennis back at Queens after 52 years.2 -

Boulter 6-6 v Tomljanovic 1st set
Raducanu on next.0 - Sponsored links:

Boulter takes 1st set 7-6.0

Good victory for Heather Watson. Beats Putintseva in straight sets - top 30 player.4

Covered End said:Boulter takes 1st set 7-6.
2-1 to Boulter in 3rd.1 -
Watson won in straight sets 6-4 6-3.
Boulter won in 3 sets 7-6 1-6 6-4.
Raducanu won in straight sets 6-1 6-2.
Jones lost in straight sets 2-6 4-6.
Burrage/Kartal lost in straight sets 6-7 6-7.
Evans should be on court shortly across the channel in the Netherlands.3 -
Evans was postponed until tomorrow.1
-
Evans through in three sets - rare victory for him on the main tour. His ranking has plummeted recently.
Just inside the top 200 after this victory.3 -
Looking forward to see how Kartal performs against Anisimova soon.0
-
Kartal beaten by Anisimova 6-1 6-3.
Like Burrage/Kartal yesterday, Boulter/Raducanu were also beaten by top seed pair Kichenok/Routliffe in the doubles.0 -
Anisimova, who is in the top 20, played at a higher level than against Burrage and Kartal couldn't reach the standard she set in her 1st round match and the Brit was never in the match after losing her serve in the 1st game of the match.
A disappointment but Sonay Kartal career is on the rise.
First on the Andy Murray arena at 12.00:
Katie Boulter v Diana Shnaider.
The Russian is 12th rated and Boulter will need to step up on her 3 set win in the 1st round where she struggled to put her opponent away after breaking serve.
Rybakina v Watson next up with Heather the big underdog followed by last but not lest.
Raducanu v Sramkova is a great chance for Emma to progress.
3 -
Evans beaten in straight sets by Humbert in the Netherlands.
Boulter leads Shnaider by a set but was broken in the second set. Currently at 0-3 in that second set.0
