Don’t shoot the messenger hearing that jones could only be moving if he doesn’t get what was promised. According to my source the board are only offering a league one budget currently and of course if there is no ambition from the club I personally don’t blame him for walking. Oxford United had the lowest budget last year and spent 5 million in all my years of supporting Charlton I can’t remember spending near that. Serious questions ly with the board if you ask me wouldn’t judge any stories coming out when something deeper could be pushing the deal closer.

Decent scoring record but I have watched a fairly large amount of Lithuanian football because I know a couple of players over there and it is a piss poor standard.
None of his goals are especially spectacular - he seems to be a "Johnny on the spot" type of striker which is probably why he appears to be so coveted. It is a highly sought after knack.
He has had a massive "glow-up" in the last 18 months judging by his ELO rating and he would currently be second to Matty Godden on that metric.
Can't imagine he would cost a lot so potentially a low-risk punt

Especially O'Connor, we should be all over him if we persist with a back 5, he's literally Lloydys twin.
Which is a shame as he would probably start for us or at the very least be good cover in a championship squad. Him and Lloyd as 2 of your back 3 centre backs, good luck with any type of aerial threat.
Only Jones & O'Connor above him statistically for defenders. Piergianni is a top, top defender.
A very good defender. Whether or not he could play at a higher level we probably won't know.
But every stat he has suggests he could, and there have been far worse players that have played championship football as a centre back. I could name you a fair few for Charlton alone.
Anyway, not much point discussing. It's a bait comment and not entirely relevant.2 -
Cornick was alright about 5 years ago but really hasnt done much since
I'll take a swerve on that. Harry Arter vibes for me27 -

NJ has to have at least two ex-Luton per season. It's just the rules.7

"I've tried to be patient with Cornick, but I really hope we can flog him before the end of the month. I just don't see what he adds to the team, he doesn't score, doesn't create, hasn't got any pace... Been a disastrous signing to be blunt."

If he thinks, for example, Asiimwe has learnt enough from his time with Walsall to be back up then we only need one right back such as Offiah.
There is also the question of whether Miles will be fit in time. Either way I think we need at least one or more likely two more front players and another CB such as Famewo.
That makes five signings including Carey by my count as a minimum.
The problem we have in going up a division is that it probably makes it less likely for any of our kids to come in. Jones didn't fancy many of them at league one level so he's unlikely to risk them in the championship, and we also now (thank god) don't have the EFL trophy games to give them minutes, so at best i think Zak Mitchell will stay and i'd expect the likes of Asiimwe, Enslin, Mbick to be loaned out.
Karoy could do with a full season loan under his belt for a League1 team, could argue the same for Kanu, or even League2, as long as they both play 40+ games. Would like to see Zak also get a loan for a decent league 1 side.
Loan the rest where we can, if they couldn't make an impression in League 1 under Jones, it can only get worse.
Is he going to be as good as Chuks in his prime? Of course not. But as a U21 he doesn't count towards salary caps, or whatever it's called in the Championship...1 -
Abdallah Sima anyone? Brighton possibly wanting rid.0
