Do any of the AI suggestions happen to have a twin?5

Just to confirm Mr Grumpy @John_Fitzpatrick1 I have checked with Chat GPT and it confirms it was last updated in June 2024, I have asked it to update it's databases and to use Transfermarkt for player data moving forward.0

Huddersfield have signed Roughan from Lincoln
Going to be a bad season for them, if they don't get their shit together. But feels they're putting together a bit of a League One XI1 -

Don't care, was never good enough for us anyway. Wouldn't have got a sniff at the first team.ForeverAddickted said:Huddersfield have signed Roughan from Lincoln

He's a Championship striker! Would someone with his pedigree be willing to drop to League One? Again!!Henry Irving said:

Remember this time last year we were all open mouthed at Rotherham signing loads of apparently decent players, but at the end of the day they were crap...apart from against us!23

Like Ofiah, a one year extension. But he must be rubbish as he couldn't get off the bench tonight.Brownie12 said:

Didn’t Burton sign nearly 20 players?thewolfboy said:Remember this time last year we were all open mouthed at Rotherham signing loads of apparently decent players, but at the end of the day they were crap...apart from against us!0 -
Has anyone from the club actually said that our budget for the coming season is going to be poor/low/Div 1/or has in any other way suggested it wont be enough/very good, or is this just assumed speculation ?0

It depends on how you define “Championship quality players “.charltonbob said:
So I was wrong, apologies that I posted an opinion.swordfish said:
So says the man who wrote off last season before November was out.charltonbob said:
If we don't sign championship quality players to add to what we already have then we'll go down.AnonymousAddick said:
Experienced in the championship had a strong campaign with Bristol city and a chance to reunite with familiar faces. Jones has proved before he can get the best out of him we could do worse. We have to remember we haven’t got the capability to go out and get a lot of championship quality at a high standard anyways.CAFCsayer said:
Hope not. Wasn't keen on him when we were being linked last yearAnonymousAddick said:I have some news not saying it’s done not saying how close I have been told we are in the market for Harry cornick there’s interest from both parties could be progressing very soon. I have heard he’s one of our main targets.
I've now posted another opinion, so tell me do you think we'll stay up if we don't sign championship quality players ?
Seems a bit sad that you want to check back on a post I made 7 months ago, don't you have a life ?
For instance if we sign Premiership quality players we will. If we sign dross of current Championship players we won’t. If we sign players with the right attitude, skill, and commitment we might, and they could come from anywhere.
Players with potential to play higher could add a lot to a team even if not starting. Signing players who stay fit helps.
So many variables.
It’s down to Jones and his team to get it right, and I think he will.1 -
Of course the Club haven’t said anything. Would be silly to do so either way. People are just speculating. Best to wait and see and judge at the end of the second window.CombeMartin said:Has anyone from the club actually said that our budget for the coming season is going to be poor/low/Div 1/or has in any other way suggested it wont be enough/very good, or is this just assumed speculation ?4 -

That's what I thought, so why talk as if its a done deal that Nathan Jones wont have enough budget .LargeAddick said:

Think people have become accustomed to us having a Roland-style Championship budget after the last couple of goes at it. Never mind the club is starting to look as well run as it's been since the Premier League days.LargeAddick said:

We’re definitely very well run and making very smart decisions but it’s just how much money we have for the playing squad. You look at the transfer links Mulligan. Carey, Famewo, Offiah, Cornick etc are they very smart sensible signings yes but are they exactly big statement signings that show we have money to throw around no. Doesn’t help we also didn’t keep Small and I agree there’s no point in paying them what Preston were offering but if we had a big budget to play with we surely could have matched it even if we didn’t think it was the best use of the money. The fact we’re being very careful makes me think the budget isn’t huge even though I don’t disagree with how we’re going about our business.MartinCAFC said:

I just don't think it is in Jones's nature to throw money around.Crispywood said:

I remember listening to him earlier in the season just after the January window. He said the owners asked him if he needed anything and they were willing to offer significant funds. He ended up trimming the squad and not really signing anyone.
They have to fit. He's a difficult fella to work for.Hes said as much. And he has to be absolutely certain that whoever we sign is willing to wholeheartedly follow his guidance regardless of what they think of him.
Those types of player are not necessarily always the ones commanding the highest fees.17 -
For the hard of hearing can someone please repeat when the window reopens?0

Allegedly.

Exactly, there's a considerable difference between not needing/wanting to throw Ipswich/Birmingham type spending sprees and not being able to. Players like Edwards and Ramsay are definitely good enough to play in the Championship... but neither were "Championship players" nor did they command the commensurate fees.carly burn said:

I personally think that there is money available if we need it for the right signing but we won't be spending for the sake of a "statement."3 -
I think Jones said that having too many players can affect the morale of the group. And he said that was nothing to do with poor attitudes.1

I'm pretty sure Jones hasn't signed a 5 year deal without some assurances on our plans and having a fairly competitive budget. And by that i don't mean competitive with the top clubs, just competitive enough to at first stay up and then kick on after that.CombeMartin said:Has anyone from the club actually said that our budget for the coming season is going to be poor/low/Div 1/or has in any other way suggested it wont be enough/very good, or is this just assumed speculation ?6 -
I'm not expecting us to finally break our transfer record after 20 odd years but I expect there's a solid budget for Chapple and NJ to spend. If the right players become available I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of 7 figure transfer fees.12

No, they haven't.CombeMartin said:Has anyone from the club actually said that our budget for the coming season is going to be poor/low/Div 1/or has in any other way suggested it wont be enough/very good, or is this just assumed speculation ?
Carter spoke about being sustainable which many took to mean not throwing loads of money at it but nothing was specified as far as I can remember.
Some have decided we spent little last season despite the club stating we had the 4th or 5th biggest budget according to Methven.
The club has just appointed an ex-EPL CEO which doesn't suggest penny pinching.
IMHO we will spend but the nature of the division means we'll be in the bottom half or even bottom quarter budget wise.23
