I think we need to introduce some kind of sarcasm indicator on here, because some people clearly can't work out what is for themselves
I like this idea, and it's a good idea in theory, but how much will that impact our transfer budget
Well, we don’t actually know what our budget is, there’s a lot of posters suggesting it’s not great, let’s face it we just don’t have a clue.

I’d have liked us to try and sign Ryan Hardie from Plymouth. Think he’s a good player .

wonder where we are scouting in Europe these days? I watch a fair bit of Bundesliga 2 and some great players knocking about
Read somewhere that Hardie is going to Preston.

I'll ask him, lives down the road from me and I see him in our local shop alot  :D
  • Hull, Preston, QPR, Wednesday, Derby, Oxford & Pompey feel like the teams we need to finish ahead of (well only 3 of them)
Can throw Stoke into that mix as well
    And Wrexham 😂

I really think Ahadme will step up in the championship. He was too good last season to be playing in League one. That's why Nathan was saving him for the Championship.
100% he was being rested for next season like Terry Taylor

For me, the position we need the most is center forward! Some that can play 30 plus games in the championship!
    I heard Aneke's a free agent now... 😂

Oh dear. Where's the sarcasm button. 😢

  • I know we allegedly narrowly missed out on him but surely Collins hasn't regressed that much that he'd drop into league two?

Saw an interesting clip with Darragh Mcanthony as much as I dislike the guy that MK Dons are basically the club everyone is throwing into rumours this summer because they've got a few quid and appointed Paul Warne. Huddersfield feels like the most likely of those 3 with the chaos at Cardiff.

It’s the fact that now suddenly the U21s are now good enough backup, for every Doughty you also get a Dempsey/Vennings, U21s should not just been thrown in, I’d much rather wait until they are ready
I think we have several u21s who are better prospects than those two, and we should have more depth and fewer injuries than we did that season.

Mbengue apparently agreed a deal several weeks ago 🤔

To be clear… is this with us ?
  • Wouldn't have thought we would sign both Mbengue and Offiah

    Agree, unless we sell Ramsay.

Not satisfied with taking one of our players, and employing a former Charlton coach, Preston are even signing players as soon as someone mentions them in this thread.

MK are throwing a lot of money around I think. Have brought in Paul Warne who obviously has a very good league 1 promotion record. I think their plan will be to try and go back to back and reach the championship so are recruiting accordingly

Well we’ve lost our two rwbs in Small and Watson. So I would definitely expect us to recruit two, as well as a left wing back.

Ramsey plays as a RCB in Jones system. Not right wing back, and I don’t really think he suits the rwb role particularly
Aren’t they also more RCBs who can cover RWB, rather than more attacking WBs? I hope we don’t limit ourselves to only playing more solid defender types out there, the width and pace Small added was a big reason for the improvement in our form.

IMO three players for two potential positions makes sense to me.

Even if we went to a back four you could see Ramsay going to right back and Offiah/Mbengue competing for a spot next to Jones centrally.

Don't discount the formation changing next season as well... there will be far less emphasis on us being the side expected to win games.

I wouldn’t rule it out, but if you don’t have enough attacking threat you put yourself under more pressure. You need players who can pick out a pass or cross, others with pace who take opponents on to push the opposition back and create space for others.
  • Unless we switch to a 4231 and bring in some serious pace I would be surprised to see a formation switch , think NJ likes a strike partnership.

4231 I wouldn't be that convinced that you wouldn't severely weaken what Coventry offers.
  • One of the strengths of our formation last season (since December) was it could be a 3-5-2 in defence and a 4-3-3 in attack. Small's attacking ability and versatility (as well as Ramsay's) was a big part of that. If we want to be able to do the same thing then ideally we need a replacement who is comfortable attacking and defending on that side.
