  • Ezra Collective complete unbridled joy. They also brought out two youth clubs to play with them, the looks on their faces were incredible
  • Pulp were great. The best Brit-pop band in my view.  A Different Class to Oasis and Blur.

     them and the magnificent Suede.

Confirmed that BBC will be broadcasting the Neil Young set.
What time is he due on?

have to say Jarvis and Brett are something else when it comes to lead singers. Jarvis was on fire in that set tonight.
  • Always good coverage of this on the Beeb - most if not all sets available in full for the next 30 days. Just watched Lola Young and Self Esteem so far - marvellous!!

Watching this now. Really good and a ridiculously well respected audience which is nice to see. No football fans in that crowd.
  • Watched Pulp and Ezra back to back. Two great acts. Anyone in the crowd that got from the pyramid to the other stage in time has made me very jealous.

Tempted to dust off the tent next year.

There was a Charlton flag at the back!

  • Thought Gary Numan smashed his set.
Just watched him on BBC4. Thought he was really good.

Skepta is one of the few hip hop artists that sounds good live
  • Skepta’s always been an incredible performer. To do this and pull this crowd with about 5 hours notice is something else

Not suggesting I'm against or for what they said but I do find it all rather crass. They come across as people who are doing it just to create media attention, which they are doing, without really understanding the intricacies. Then again it never stopped a rather orange American to do the same.

Saw some Charlton shorts dancing around during Ezra Collective

I feel like it’s hard to judge Oasis compared to the rest of Brit Pop, they kind of stand alone. But Pulp are miles better than anything else, I think His n Hers & Different Class stand up better than most of the rest of Brit Pop’s output. I remember (very) drunkenly telling an American colleague one night in New York that Common People explains British class culture in a single song, I stand by that.

Saw a bit of Gary Numan, used to like his stuff and I know he's moved on, but I disagree with the above comments as I thought it was a bit crap, especially when he wheeled out his heavily tatted and pierced daughters to nicely kill the atmos.
  • Sounds like the Pyramid arena is very quiet for Neil Young while people are being turned away from other stages as they’re too full

Charli should have been headlining tomorrow on the Pyramid, weird choice sticking her on the Other

Woodsies has never been busier 20 mins before a show start. Will be closed before long as crowd is insane. Tom Odell got a bumper crowd courtesy of the Scissor Sisters crowd. Am 2/3rd back in the field behind the stage’s tent and the crowd goes all the way to the back. Basically, NY on Woodsies, Charlie XCX Pyramid and Scissor Sisters Other would have met demand.

Frustratingly iPlayer seems to have died for Scissor Sisters. Other stage for Charli XCX looks the busiest I’ve ever seen on TV
  • Is Charli xcx miming?
  • Not thinking much of Neil Young atm. Admittedly I dont know much of his back catalogue but yet to hear a song I do know.

  • Also annoyed I missed hearing any of the Kaiser Chiefs. They were on around midday & BBC only started broadcasting at 2pm. Will have to stay up to see if they make the "highlights" package later.

    Must know this one..

No just a combo of her backing track also having her vocal and the vocoder on her vocals, makes it hard to differentiate the live mic and the backing track

    Their set is on iPlayer
