Akin Famewo is now a free agent along with Barry Bannon and Callum Paterson … owlshub social media site
I've mentioned before, Paterson is very versatile and would suit us well .. also, to much derision, I opined that Bannon also would do for us. Despite his age,35, he is always passionate, works his socks off and upsets the opposition .. so what's not to like?
Bannon would NEVER come to us after we laughed at him when he did his ACL in the SE corner. One of our defenders sidestepped his challenge and waltzed off with the ball and the crowd cheering. Rumours were when we last played them about how much he hated us and was desperate to score /beat us.
I'm not sure Swansea are in for him. I know they bid in January, but they have a new manager now. They've also spent a lot of money already.
I think we may get him in the dying days of August.
Too late. Season's started by then. If a player uhms & aghs and cant make up his mind I don't want him. Only committed players please.
The player isn’t umming and arghing - orient havent accepted our bid and he clearly doesn’t want to go to Huddersfield
If you’ve ever been to Huddersfield, you’d understand why.
I say that as an honorary northerner. Yorkshire is beautiful. But Huddersfield ain’t.
True. The town is not great but the surrounding area is beautiful. Doubt many players live in the town. The big downside in Hudds ambitions to signing him are the league that they’re in. Not location.
Agreed, it was in jest - not a great city, but surrounding areas are.
Swansea were after Galbraith in January so may be some substances to that. Would be frustrating if we missed out by not paying that bit more that was needed.
I think Galbraith would better value at £2M than Tanto would be at £1.5M
No idea why, but am excited about this one - always like a striker signing!
My god, I do hope Golfie is happy at last? 😜
Me ? Nah.
We need 2 more "strikers" seeing as we really only have Godden & Leaburn (the latter being out injured for the last third of the season). And I see Tanto as more of a TC type of player......more of a wide player who can cut in & score than an out & out striker.
I can’t see there being another today, I reckon it’ll just be the kit release tomorrow, maybe a signing Friday, then a few in the run up to training camp
Can i just say, having seen him play about 8/9 times last season, Charlie Kelman is a shit FOOTBALLER, clearly good at putting the ball in the net, but offers next to nothing in the build up, can’t pass, doesn’t hold it up, is purely a long ball chaser and that’s where his bread’s buttered, fair play to him. But he found his level & severely lacks any technical ability to progress any higher imo.
One of my pals reckons there’s another one at sparrows lane today. He is known for talking absolute rubbish but I for one have massively got my hopes up.
something a bit more substantial from me today, Daniel Kanu to AFC Wimbledon on Microsoft Teams
loan
Already beaten to it by FLW and Cawley, slacking!
No thats not true i reported it first, don't dare question me and my integrity !!!! After all the breaking news and the ITK knowledge I've nearly shared several times on here.
Just because they announced it publicly before I did doesn't mean I didnt break the news first, ask yourself who did they hear that news from first ?

Hope it’s not Messi. Every match would get moved for TV 😉
Kelman might prove me wrong, but our defence made fairly light work of him each time we played them imo.
Credit to our defence, he is absolutely class. 21 goals you have to have something about you.
I think he has it all for this level, movement, he's fast, he's fairly strong, can score a range of goals.
As Sam said though, the likes of West Brom are after him, probably be unlikely.
Sometimes that's true!
No Nicky Ajose slander.
He was the product of a shit environment, reckon with the right team and manager he could have replicated his Swindon form. Confidence is everything in football.
Can't have too much ill will towards him, he joined a basket case club.

Surely we're not in for Shay Given. Already signed one keeper. 🙄

I don’t think he is as bad as you make out but at the same time, I can’t see the hype. 21 goals last year but only 18 L1 goals in 4 seasons before. I definitely think it’s a gamble for championship clubs to be after him but you are only as good as your last season where his stats were impressive

Tanto is a bit of a statement signing with the fee involved, it would be weird to announce another signing on the same day later that's on a free etc.
Under the radar 1 Sonny
The Pope's a Catholic 2 Thomas, Tanto
