Just been dragged around a charity shop in town and lo and behold there on the shelf was a book by none other than Robert Galbraith. You know what this means don’t you ?

We are signing Cormoran Strike 🤔

Stockport have replaced Olaofe with Malik Mothersille

be interesting to see how he gets on up there
Fair play to them doing the work and lining up the replacement before letting Oloafe go.

Very well run club at the moment Stockport.

Have you heard Wimbledon are interested in taking Kanu on loan?

Kelman might prove me wrong, but our defence made fairly light work of him each time we played them imo.
Credit to our defence, he is absolutely class. 21 goals you have to have something about you.

I think he has it all for this level, movement, he's fast, he's fairly strong, can score a range of goals.

As Sam said though, the likes of West Brom are after him, probably be unlikely.
Nicky Ajose Targets Promotion After Sealing Three-Year Charlton Deal All Nigeria Soccer

    Sometimes that's true!
    No Nicky Ajose slander.  ;)

He was the product of a shit environment, reckon with the right team and manager he could have replicated his Swindon form. Confidence is everything in football.

Can't have too much ill will towards him, he joined a basket case club.

He still gave us Pompey 1 nil away.
He never replicated that golden season after he left us either, and was retired at 29

Stockport just replaced Tanto with Malik Mothersille in a club record deal signing
That will really hurt Peterborough, losing players to fellow L1 sides.

What do we reckon left to sign then?

first choice RWB -  (Potentially Offiah?)
first choice LCB/competition for Gillepshey - (Potentially Famewo?)
First choice No.8/compeition for Docherty - (Potentially Galbraith but looking unlikely)

Then probably need another LWB as cover for Edwards
And another more defensive minded CM as cover for Coventry.
Potentially another striker option if we do let Kanu/Ahadme leave.

Would leave the squad looking something like this:

    GK - Kaminski / Mannion / AMB

RWB - *NEW* (OFFIAH?) / Assiimwe

    RCB - Ramsey / Z.Mitchell

    CB - Jones / A.Mitchell

    LCB - *NEW*(FAMEWO?) / Gillepshey

    LWB - Edwards / *New*

    DM -  Coventry /*NEW*/ Taylor

    CM -  *NEW* / Docherty / Anderson

    CAM - Carey / Berry

    ST - Oloafe / Godden / *NEW*

    ST - Campbell / Leaburn / Ahadme

Millwall have a clause in their deal with Stockport that says they get 40% of any future money Stockport receive. Are you sure you aren't getting your wires crossed Ronnie?

I’d say this is spot on.

Ahadme isn’t even an option in the Championship, so we definitely need an another forward. I’m not sure on Offiah’s attacking qualities but I’d like someone in the Thierry Small mould, at least comfortable going past people and getting a cross in.

Wouldn't be surprised if Assimwe goes on loan later in the window. Think that CM that comes in over Doc is going to be absolutely crucial.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we got in a quality Premier League loan for the number 8. Similar to us getting Connor Gallagher or NJ bringing Dewsbury-Hall to Luton

We’ll see, that’s the bare minimum we need. I do think they were probably under promising with a plan to over deliver.

Got to be a RWB, LCB/LWB, CM and striker. That’s before the likes of Ahadme, A Mitchell and Taylor are potentially moved on, which could see 1 or 2 more join.

Think the recent group of Poku, Jade-Jones and Kyprianou all walking for free and essentially undermining the whole transfer policy of Pboro means that now any reasonable offer gets accepted, regardless of where it comes from

I may well be behind on this as haven't had a chance to read the whole thread etc, but if we're potentially after both Burke and Famewo then I can't see Alex Mitchell staying - presume we'd look to sell to a L1 club.

Can't see him wanting to be effectively 6th choice CB for 3 places, and think L1 is probably his level anyway.

Cawley said we were only looking to bring in 7 signings, so probably going to bring in a RCB/RWB (depending where Ramsay plays) a LCB, LWB and a CM/CAM on top of Kaminski Oloafe and Carey and that will be our business done would like another forward but not a necessity Oloafe, TC, Godden, Leaburn and then Ahadme/Mbick for emergency cover should be enough. Preston fans seem convinced they’ve won the race for Offiah as well

Pretty sure he's been signed to play where Berry did last season/to provide competition for Berry.

No, but he’s out of contract and most SPL clubs won’t be paying big wages so he should be affordable.

Ahadme won't be part of the plans IMHO.

Jones decided he wasn't good enough for L1 and picked youth teamers ahead of him, he's not playing him in the Championship.

Strongly suspect a loan out somewhere with us paying part of his wages.

I'd fully expect Ahadme to leave late in the window on loan with us having to pay a large chunk of his wages. Mbick could probably do with a loan too so definitely a gap for another senior striker at least

Not ready to put pressure on Leaburn fitness wise or Dixon in terms of experience (will be interesting to see how he looks in Preseason)

Definitely need a creative/playmaker midfielder, crying out for someone that can see a pass forward, also someone that can turn, unlike most of our midfield. Not a robot/ headless chicken
