Gisappointed said:Seems too short to be a LCB and too slow to be a LWB. Having played in the Prem, wont be cheap wages. I'd prefer a LCB with pace who will put MG on bench. Fawemo would have been my preference, or spend some money.
Manager Nathan Jones added: "Amari'i's someone I know well. I signed him at Luton and he did fantastically well for me. He knows how I want to play, he has Championship and Premier League experience, and he's a wonderful athlete with pace and power. He will add to the group and we're really delighted because left-sided centre-halves are very difficult to come by."
What makes you believe he’s lost the pace he had?
And why is 5 ft 11 too short to play LCB in a back 3? He’s played there for a few years now, if it was an issue it would have been a failed experiment and he’d have been moved back to LB/LWB. There will be more possession football in the Championship so I don’t see the need for all three CBs to be giants. He’s spent 6 of the last 7 years in the Championship, with the other season being in the PL, so the question for me is he still capable of playing consistently well at that level, rather than being too short and too slow.16 -

Ramsay’s 6 ft 1 on the OS, so I think other sources have probably got it wrong.Exiled_Addick said:

If we are making it personal, excitement/ entertainment is subjective . You might find the beano exciting , or drinking Fosters. I might not . I don’t find Jones’ style of football entertaining but I was entertained that we ended up on a good run and excited that we went up. To suggest I know bugger all about football is irrelevant to all of that - you might be right, you might be wrong. In an expression about excitement, I don’t think you can tell. Thanks for reading “Major”. I assume you’re not John, or the guy out of Fawlty Towers .Major said:wmcf123 said:

Said it a few times on the Expectations thread, we're not going to be exciting to watch, doubt we'll get plaudits from opposition fans for the way we play at times, expect us to be pretty gritty, but reckon we'll get the job done
Our very own Eyeore:
Eeyore is a fictional character in the Winnie-the-Pooh books by A. A. Milne. He is an old, grey stuffed donkey and friend of the title character, Winnie-the-Pooh. Eeyore is generally characterised as pessimistic, depressed, and anhedonic (the inability to experience pleasure from activities that would normally be enjoyable.)
He also knows bugger all about football.2 -
Sounds like a role here where he won’t have to play every minute of every game will probably suitScoham said:0 -

Both classics that have met the test of time.

If we sign Reece Burke it is difficult to see where Bell will get any minutes in any game. He will be third choice for LCB and a poor second choice for LWB, where I would hope to see Enslin displace him as the season goes on.NabySarr said:

That Cesar Azpilicueta was only 5ft10 and what did he ever achieve playing at CB in a back 3? Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup, Super Cup, Club World Cup? As I understand it, Bell plays LCH or LWB and Burke play RCH or RWB (probably more right back than wing back)wolfgang said:

Bit of cherry picking there. Picked arguably one of the best defenders of that profile. May as well say Puyol, Cannavaro, Baresi etc while you're at it.Garrymanilow said:

It is far more likely you will be a good centre back if you are over 6 foot than under, that is a statistical fact.
Azpilicueta and other special defenders of that profile are an extreme comparison.1 -

Although easier in play in a back 3 as a shorter player than a back 4, especially as one of the three is likely to be a fullback .Braziliance said:

It's just a bit of a stretch to use arguably one of the best defenders of all time, at least in the modern era as a comparison.
Most times, you need to be over 6 foot to be a succesful centre back, same as a goalkeeper. Unfortunately genetics play a huge part in these positions, most of the time.0 -

Ramsay is over 6ft! Club website (who would know) has him at 6ft1, you can also see that with your own eyes when he stands next to others2

Ramsay isn't 6 foot. I've stood right next to him. If he is 6 foot 1 then I am actually 6'5 and been measured wrong as I am 185cm (just shy of 6 foot 1)
I would say he is about 5'9 or thereabouts.7 -
I know you love to double down and argue but why would our website lie about his height, Iv stood near him and would have said he’s around 6ft.Braziliance said:Ramsay isn't 6 foot. I've stood right next to him. If he is 6 foot 1 then I am actually 6'5 and been measured wrong.

No, I just correct bollocks 😂
It's good news for me if he is 6'1 cause I can add a few inches on myself.1 -
Not one of them is standing up straight. Macca is just about 6'2, Lloydy is around 6'3/4, I said around 5'9 for Kayne, so it's likely he is around 5'10 based on that pic.Yann897 said:

Also the fact that I have been officially measured at 185cm and stood right next to him, so know he isn’t that height. 😂5 -
Doesn’t matter hugely at the end of the day, both the club website and Braziliance have been wrong before, as we all have.
Not convinced Bell is a guaranteed starter anyway0 -

You were the one who said what the site said and presented it as fact, I am telling you the site is wrong and so are your eyes. He is billed as 5'9/5'10 anywhere else.

I said it before you said you’d stood next to him, I then took that as face value. Either you or the club is wrong, that’s an indisputable fact. It doesn’t matter too much to me because I don’t think his height is effecting his defending, or his attacking at corners for that matter. I was just trying to get the thread back on topic mainlyBraziliance said:
