What is the point in still going? They almost deserve a massive rain delay tomorrow.
It's about being able to resume tomorrow morning when the ball is still hard, which you wouldn't have if you had 25 overs today.

Absolutely classic from Sky to miss the declaration when everyone else could see it coming
Then the graphics show a wicket before the umpire has signalled and when Duckett didn't even hit the ball. Normally Sky coverage is great but but those things are amateur

A major benefit of being at the game is not having to watch that advert

Why is Crawley still getting picked?

A spin attack of Root and Bashir is just such a gift to the batting side
@DennisBooth will be along in a minute to say he’s actually really good because he got a 5 for against some village level cricketers a few weeks back. He is garbage - he can’t put more than 2 balls in a row on a decent length and the vast majority of his wickets come from stupid mistakes by batsmen.
Bashir is a young player learning his craft. It is not his fault that there is a dearth of good English spinners. Personally I would pick Dawson. I would also pick Bethell for Crawley and Archer for Woakes.

I’d personally prefer an extra 20/25 overs to bowl a team out, but then again, we aren’t capable of digging in and not give up wickets to stupid decisions.

Fielder on the deep cover boundary in Siraj's second over. India must think that with only 580 more required, they need more protection.

The talk before the game about how India picked the wrong side looks a bit iffy now. Akash looks a very decent bowler.

And Siraj is weirdly better without Bumrah too

On this wicket it's almost like there's 2 different pitches.
    One against the new ball.
    One against every other ball.
Get through today without losing another wicket and tomorrow will play much easier.

Gets Root with a beauty. Akash, Siraj and Bumrah at Lord's looks way better than the England attack.

The new ball lasts about 15 overs.

And has just claimed a 3rd wicket.

This is really exposing how poor our bowlers have been

It seems the Root dismissal should have been a back foot no ball

All over before tea tomorrow. A defeat by 300 + runs. Might get to see some of the F1 from Silverstone.

Yep all the worries about the bowling lineup post Anderson and Broad are coming very true.

I'm not saying that this is our best bowling line up, because it isn't in my opinion, but there is one other aspect to this - workload.

This issue is partially down to us, ironically, scoring too quickly and also because India rested Bumrah and we didn't rest anyone. India's five bowlers at Edgbaston bowled a total of 139 overs prior to this Test and have now bowled 224 overs in total. England's front five had bowled 209 overs prior to this Test and have now bowled 421 overs in total. So, India's five main bowlers in this Test have bowled to date 212 less overs than those of England. Clearly India's bowlers will bridge that gap, to a degree, tomorrow but the differential will still be substantial.

It's a valid point but ultimately we've lost this test because of Gill. The man has got 430 runs by himself, and we currently have 479/15.

Not to mention 7 of our 16 batsmen so far have got a duck.
