Daniel Levy must've had a bang on the head this week.
Deal agreed for Kudus for 55m a couple of days ago, and now a 60m deal agreed for Gibbs-White.
Two very good signings who i think will do really well under Frank.

I must be honest, I'm over the moon if we can get M G-W over the line. I watched his debut for Wolves against Spurs. He came on at HT and he absolutely ran the show. Have followed his career closely since. Just need a bonified no.6 likr Douglas Luiz or Adam Wharton then things are looking up, unless he intends to play a double pivot with Bentancur and Bissouma.
Dare I say it though, wouldnt be at all surprised to see Romero sold to pay for one or the signings. We'll just have to wait and see I guess!3 -

Different circumstances but this sort of smacks of the Charlton/Dowie situation. This is why Arsenal fans have the problem. The popular opinion seems to be that Arsenal are not spending 52m, nor is Madueke likely to agree to sign just to be Saka's back up. We all know that Saka is untouchable and will play 95% of games if fit.JohnBoyUK said:

Madueke isn't signing just so he gets a run out in the league cup or at home to Burnley when Saka is rested. They already have Nwaneri who can do that. He's surely been promised he'll be starting or at least rotating on the left wing, otherwise why leave Chelsea where he already has a rotation role?
So their issue is why waste 52m when they could've put it towards someone better (Rodrygo for example), rather than spend it on a player Chelsea are happy to see the back of.2 -
But Saka has played too much football and is getting too many injuries, their back ups there haven't been good enough. If Madueke can play 30% of the games and replace him off the bench then he'll have done his job. He'll get more football there than at Chelsea too. Rodrygo will cost more money and demand higher wages and probably won't be available until the nearer the end of the window. I totally get it

Looks like Jordan Henderson is returning to the PL with Brentford, not sure if he was a target for them but that will sting for Sunderland fans I think0

I don't disagree with you and as a backup i don't think anyone would question that he's a good signing, although admittedly expensive. They did nothing last summer, they did nothing in January and were clearly expecting big moves this summer. Madueke isn't that.0 -
Madueke is a strange one, not terrible but way overpriced. Firstly his preferred position is on the right, which unless Saka is not fit he wont play, also if that happened i am not sure you would be happy to rely on him to get the goals / assists.
On the left Martinelli, very hot and cold and doesn't get the stats/ goals or assists, can be quite frustrating but i dont think Madueke improves that position, for example if Eze came in he would be playing.
Supposedly Arsenal will get their striker shortly (likely Gyokeres) however i've never really been a fan of Madueke, maybe one of those that has an upside if he hits the ground running and extra squad depth, although reminds me of Sterling last year it felt an ok signing but way too much for what he has shown to date.
I would add i think Spurs 2 signings are very decent, still a few to sign to realistically go to top 4 challengers, it looks like its going to be a very competitive season with City and Chelsea both looking to find some form and all the other sides who last year didn't really give a good account strengthening, i'd still go City/ Arsenal 1,2... maybe bold to leave Liverpool out0 -

The back up for Saka does make sense with Madueke, although that's hell of a lot of money to spend on a back up. Maybe I'm out I touch with Premier League and that's the going rate.If Arsenal have a certain amount to spend, surely getting Eze in for the left side is far more important.Eze, Saka, and a proper striker would be a joy to watch attacking.2

The concern is that spending now might take away from funds needed for a potential starting left-winger. Martinelli hasn’t shown the consistency required to start for a title-winning side. Cover for Saka is important and overdue, but if it means missing out on someone like Eze or Rodrygo, it’s not worth it.

After several weeks, Man U have finally caved in and agreed to pay Brentford what they want for Mbeumo. 65m + 6m add ons.
Going to be a tough transitional season ahead for them, they've lost Mbeumo and Norgaard, might potentially still lose Wissa and of course Thomas Frank has left as well.2 -
I think they'll massively struggle and Andrews won't last the season. The one thing in their favour is that they always recruit really well. Whenever they've lost big players before (Watkins, Benrahma, Toney, Konsa, Raya) their replacements have usually been just as good if not better. The issue is that this year, they're losing a lot of players all at the same time.1

Just feels like too many players to lose at once. I'm sure they'll find some gems as replacements they always do , but to lose that amount of goals is going to be very hard to replace. Massively rate Damsgaard as a creator but he's not a goalscorer like Mbeumo.
