Yep poor shot from duckett not sure I could control myself with that prick siraj in my face and can see a Crawley bottle job incoming usually happens when he loses his partner early.
Both Pope & Crawley are really bad just after a wicket has fallen. They need to dig deep today. Wouldn't want to bat last on this based on what it is doing today. 280-300 would be a very good score I think.
Agreed they need to show to more metal but I'm thinking with the uncertainty of the bounce atm maybe scoring fast is better than falling to balls with your name on them every over possibly, hopefully the ball gets blunted a bit and we can see this through.

In all seriousness, this pitch has suddenly turned into an absolute nightmare for batters. It doesn't fulfill the criteria for being "dangerous" but it is so hard to be able to play proper cricket shots.
Its suddenly turned into that early 90s windies pitch that got called off lol.
The sadly departed former Cl poster, Mike Wren, aka ChirpyRed & Riviera, was at that game.

Certainly think Zak is better off being aggressive I agree

I love Nasser Hussain but what on earth is he talking about blaming Duckett for walking into Siraj. He's come all the way down the pitch and got in his face!

These two need to see off this ball really but as said above for Crawley that means being more aggressive. It’s a risk but if it works he could be quids in

Yeah agreed bell is more conventional,Crawley seems to get better the more he feels bat on ball and attacks ,sometimes looks lost at sea when being indecisive.

Six wickets in the last eighteen overs. The draw is quickly disappearing.

Pope out lbw thought it looked close in live play was surprised it wasn't given, good review also don't rate pope at all like a temu Ian bell.

That was not what he needed to do

Crawley and Pope are so boom or bust.

We really can’t afford to have two players like that in our batting line up.

They both should have been dropped a while ago imo.

Oh dear, really loose drive from Crawley. He will still be picked for the first Test in Australia. Pope again looked like a wicket waiting to happen. He is a terrible starter. Surely there is a better opener in England than Zac Crawley?

The replay on the Crawley shot no foot movement at all and open face bat atleast Trescothick made up for his lack of foot movement with proper shots and timing.

Crawley does it again. Fucking useless . We deserve to lose by picking him every test much . Things have to change

Problem is having both of them at the top of the order, especially when Duckett is prone to also throw away his wicket on occasion

Get Tom Haines on the phone and in at the top of the order. They won't though and they'll try Bethell.

I have no problem with Bethell as he’s a better player than Crawley even though he hasn’t got a century yet. Is he an opener though.

Nah I wouldn't mind Bethell at 3 in lieu of Pope but this England management loves to do the left field stuff.

I haven’t seen enough of him to make a judgement.

Live by the sword, die by the sword. As Sangakkara says, Brook might have won the battle with the scoop but that sweep, exposing his stumps as he did to that seamer, had inherently more risk.

They persist with Crawley and Duckett purely for their little and large, left and right combination imo.

When I said yesterday that the Draw was odds on favourite I didnt take into account our batters being brain dead. For that I apologise.

Cant see us getting to tea at this rate. India will need less than 200 to win in 100+ overs.
