Joao Nieves red card for pulling  someone's hair. The reaction of the Chelsea player on having his hair pulled (looked as if he was shot) sort of sums up so much I dislike about the modern game.

He's got form for it - rolls around like an absolute **** at the slightest touch.
  • Trump getting involved with the medals & trophy lift is bloody random though 🤣
  • cucurella is one of them fella’s I’d have no problem watching someone absolutely go through him studs up
But also the kinda fella you'd love to have on your team. A pure shithousery master

Not for me. Bloke's a complete weapon.

In my mind we can't moan about the way the game has "developed" with all the diving, screaming and general wankyness and then go, "but it's great if we do it".
  • It certainly had its critics but overall i enjoyed the tournament. Then again i am someone who will pretty much watch any football if it's on.

However i think for it to gain more respect it needs to be held in Europe. Hosting it in the USA, with kick off times to mainly suit Europe because that's where the best teams are from, meant a lot of games in boiling hot early afternoon temperatures. Not ideal.

Unfortunately FIFA need a lot of money for this tournament so that likely means Middle East involvement. There's already talk of Qatar hosting it in 2029, which would mean a winter tournament, and probably more half empty stadiums.
  • It seems ridiculous that its not going to follow the Confederations Cup model, which is what its effectively replaced. It would make sense to act as the warm up to the next World Cup, so that the host nations know they're ready to handle the main event without issue.

In that case it should be Spain, Portugal and Morocco holding the next Tournament

Just letting whoever host it, based on money, makes it feel even less serious to the fans
  • I don’t know, Would Seattle Sounders v Salzburg and other group games have sold out crowds though ?

which European country would want to host it?
Would you dilute it by having multiple countries host?

Dilute what? The prestige and attractiveness of a competition FIFA invented five minutes ago?

I'd say it's the opposite of random. Narcissist Trump inserts himself into sporting history*, endorsed by the sycophant Infantino.

*Like it or loathe it, this "competition" is here to stay.
  • Chelsea muller PSG .. great stuff, the French and their mercenaries don't like it up 'em.
Interesting how Chelsea's essentially long ball methods, with their keeper the best passer, destroyed the tappy tappy PSG approach allied to Chelsea's superb defending as though their collective lives depended on it .. lessons for us to learn ?

as you say, also i m o the best, most versatile left back in Europe
  • Don’t mind Cucurella at all, proper player.

Also seen some interviews with him and his wife and they come across as very decent people, their son has severe autism and I believe he may even be non verbal.

Reckon they had a word with NJ as to how to keep a clean sheet!

I was joking with my mate way back in the last 16 that Chelsea will win the whole thing then finish 10th in the league
hopefully the second part is true too, fairplay a decent performance but just felt PSG wasn't quite on it, or maybe tactical masterclass by Maresca? lets hope we dont see much more of that in the future.

    Doesn't excuse the fact he's a c**t of a player
