Alice Larkworthy announced as the club’s new Commercial Director in the morning and Tracey says she leaving in the afternoon.

He wasn't inferring anything, just hoping the two events were a coincidence. Nothing more, nothing less.

No pop from me. I was simply trying to understand what Beds was inferring/not inferring, suggesting/not suggesting/remarking that he hoped was just coincidence?

The club appears to be in better place than it has been in years and Tracey's departure won't be as disruptive as it once could have been. It will be well handled - perhaps this was a determining factor, as now seems as opportune a moment to hand the baton over as I can recall.

The bit that confused me was the ‘hopefully just a coincidence’ part, which definitely suggests something untoward has gone on
if she feels it’s time to move on the good luck to her but she will leave a massive hole not just in her job role but also in just being there. She stood firm through the bad times with the crooks and always has the best interest of the club in mind. not sure what but I really think us fans should honour what she has done for us separate to whatever the club do
It's taken me a couple of hours to digest this unexpected piece of news before I could make some sense of what I might post on here.
I may have said this before but the first time I encountered Tracey I was on my hands & knees working on the revamped Pierre Bolangi Garden at SL. Tonight, I'm nearly on my knees again, trying to come to terms with this loss- because that's how I perceive Tracey's departure. I cannot imagine how the players reacted to the news...
This very special lady has worn SO many hats in her time at our club. When anything & anyone has needed that extra bit of help, Tracey was there. For me, her assistance in organising the POTY dinners of late, liaising with the club & especially the team manager regarding the squad, made a huge difference . Mention a player's name now & she'll even know their tipple of choice ! ( And Lyle Taylor's was definitely not a pint of Guinness!) But regardless of her proper job title, and with the players' well being at the forefront of her working ( and non working day) , there was the other side of her caring nature....the fans.
SO many have been touched by this lady's " magic wand" which have even made wishes come true.
That so many of the faithful know who Tracey is, is testament to her involvement in the lives of other supporters. Whilst the seed of an idea & the admin side of bring " cunning plans" to fruition is straightforward, Tracey has been there to take it a step further to bring something to the "party" that no-one else could. Ask @Sillybilly & @GlassHalfFull among others but especially Sharon & Garry Jay who were supported in person by Tracey when "our" Ben was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Video messages from players, managers and much more has been organised time after time without question & with pleasure. As one Lifer posted " Thank you, Tracey for being Charlton's Mother & wrapping your arms around our club and its people". Never a truer word spoken IMO.
And who can forget the part Tracey played in the demise of one ex owner ( who I refuse to name) which could have put her job at risk. Clearly her club was more important than her position here....whilst others hid away that evening. That is the measure of this lady.
So, I can but hope that Tracey finds as much enjoyment & satisfaction from any future employment as she has at our club but as importantly, that she is respected & loved as much as she is here.
Gutted. Feels like Millwall have relegated us and Palace have beat us in an fa cup final. I'll always see some of the clubs employees bigger than any player. Tracey is one of them. All the best and thank you.
Big question is why?, so liked and loved by everybody. Won't see the likes of her again.
Hasn't she said that, after ten years, she fancies a new challenge. Think I read that. It's not unheard of as a reason for leaving a job. Quite common in fact. Could always accept that at face value, which I'm doing.

I was shocked to hear the news, I hope Tracey has something ahead of her as a replacement that will provide her with the immense contentment and satisfaction that she deserves for her service to the club family.
A worthy recipient of recognition at a future home game and of her own place in the museum.
The epitome of professionalism and expert people support/care. This feels like losing a fan’s favourite top player (probably a keeper always there to save the day) on a freebie after a decade’s reliable service.
If you look back at the last 10 years; the uncertainty, the embarrassing off the field antics of former owners, some of the blind arrogance we have witnessed, the list goes on, there has been just a few constant stand out positives and Tracey for me tops that pile. A wonderful person with one of a kind interpersonal skills. Our loss will be another club’s or business’ huge gain. We can only look back fondly on all Tracey did for the club, our lads, particularly the young new ones settling into London, and wish her well for the future.
I do hope the club honour her service with a named area/zone etc. Perhaps the ‘TL Fanzone’ - I don’t know, other than her consistently positive impact deserving some lasting recognition. x

I wasn’t inferring anything other than both things happening on the same day is a coincidence and that I hoped it was just that . No conspiracy theories from me .
Five pages of (mainly) tributes in the past 6 hours since this news broke - I think that alone shows the enormous regard we fans have for @Tracey. For the "over and above" work she does, being such a kind, compassionate and ever-professional link between supporters and the club, in addition to her official role with the players.
The past 10 years have included some of the worst situations a club could face, and Tracey is one of those to whom we owe a great debt of gratitude for having the courage to stand and be counted. THANK YOU!
It sounds as though CAFC's loss will be some other employer's great gain, and I hope Tracey gets as much satisfaction from her new role, but with fewer concerns. Best of Luck.

But Tracey’s role has nothing remotely to do with Alice’s role. To suggest otherwise and question that the two events are possibly linked is bizarre.
So sad to hear this news. I always regarded Tracey as part of the furniture very much Charlton’s “First Lady”. I think she will always have Charlton in her heart and wish her every success in any new venture that she undertakes. She was a tremendous advocate for all things good about Charlton both on and off the field. Simply irreplaceable, good luck our Trace.
Tracey has been such an important part of the club, has taken fantastic care of the players and is such a lovely person with a very strong moral compass. She will be sorely missed. With all the positive news recently, we had to get one bad bit of news I guess. All the very best for the future Tracey. You are always welcome back!
It feels the same as if we had just sold Miles to Millwall. She is irreplaceable and will be sorely missed. Good luck in whatever you do next, Tracey. You are a legend!
Don't get me wrong, she will be a huge loss to the club and will be some very tough shoes to fill, but this is a massive overreaction.
Now i think back to the post-match celebrations in Boxpark when the squad were all on the balcony, i remember at one point Tracey was at the front looking down and was visibly emotional. Didn't think anything of it at the time and thought she was just overly happy, but now i wonder if it was because she knew she was leaving.
Ten years as the players Liaison officer for 'our Tracey' when she was always on call for players and the time Tracey put into the job would far exceed working hours. Teaching players to cook or change light bulbs and listen to their problems, some trivial and some more important, in a Motherly way would be all consuming.
Your lad Miles can be your main focus now as well as Carl.
Thank you Tracey Leaburn for being the best of Charlton Athletic for a decade and whatever the "Challenge" is next i wish you well and it gives you time to reflect how much you are appreciated by the Charlton fan base, current and ex players that you have helped to be part of the family club that is CAFC.
