  • We sign a payer called "Carey" and suddenly Tracey Leaburn resigns.

    Coincidence?

    I think he sacked her
  • Shame to see this. Good luck Tracey.

I wondered if it had something to do with the recent Raptor sightings at Sparrows Lane.

Move over Curbs - The Tracey Leaburn Stand.
Given the PSA testing - the Tracey Leaburn Examination Room
Given she always stays out on the pitch after games to welcome the players off , I'd say Tracey's Tunnel 😂
Could sound a bit weird of course!
  • Not good news .
Alice Larkworthy announced as the club’s new Commercial Director in the morning and Tracey says she leaving in the afternoon.
    Hopefully just coincidence .
You think the new commercial director’s first act was to fire a club stalwart and legend with no explanation as to why?

Not everything has a dark meaning. Sometimes things just happen
Where did I say that ? Jeeez I’ll fucking shut up in future .
    What was you inferring then?
He wasn't inferring anything, just hoping the two events were a coincidence. Nothing more, nothing less.

Too many people trying to have a pop at a very innocent musing.

    No pop from me.
I was simply trying to understand what Beds was inferring/not inferring, suggesting/not suggesting/remarking that he hoped was just coincidence?

What did he think it was if it wasn't a coincident?
I was simply trying to understand what his comment meant and thought he would be the best person to answer.
  • Beds is getting some flak but there's an element in what he says that strikes a chord with me. Over recent months the club have been increasingly filling round holes with round pegs - we're seeing what seem to be sensible appointments, and they keep on coming. The club appears to be in better place than it has been in years and Tracey's departure won't be as disruptive as it once could have been. It will be well handled - perhaps this was a determining factor, as now seems as opportune a moment to hand the baton over as I can recall.
    I think that’s a fair point.

The bit that confused me was the ‘hopefully just a coincidence’ part, which definitely suggests something untoward has gone on
  • A great servant to the club, players and fans !

if she feels it’s time to move on the good luck to her but she will leave a massive hole not just in her job role but also in just being there. She stood firm through the bad times with the crooks and always has the best interest of the club in mind.
not sure what but I really think us fans should honour what she has done for us separate to whatever the club do

  • When it comes down to it, she'll probably see more of her own child, than all the other children at the club.

Let her spend more time with Miles, and Carl, than running around looking after every Tom, Dick, and Harry that flit through her life.
  • She's always seemed irreplaceable. With Tracey leaving and Steve Avory taking a back seat, there are very big shoes to fill.
  • Big question is why?, so liked and loved by everybody. Won't see the likes of her again.
  • Will this open up a position for Linda maybe ?

Hasn't she said that, after ten years, she fancies a new challenge. Think I read that. It's not unheard of as a reason for  leaving a job. Quite common in fact. Could always accept that at face value, which I'm doing.

So good luck in your next venture Tracey and  thanks for everything.
  • I was shocked to hear the news, I hope Tracey has something ahead of her as a replacement that will provide her with the immense contentment and satisfaction that she deserves for her service to the club family.

A worthy recipient of recognition at a future home game and of her own place in the museum.

Thank you for clarifying. At least someone understood what I said .

    I’m fine. Apology accepted 😉

I wasn’t inferring anything other than both things happening on the same day is a coincidence and that I hoped it was just that . No conspiracy theories from me .
  • So sad to hear this news. I always regarded Tracey as part of the furniture very much Charlton’s “First Lady”. I think she will always have Charlton in her heart and wish her every success in any new venture that she undertakes. She was a tremendous advocate for all things good about Charlton both on and off the field. Simply irreplaceable, good luck our Trace.
  • Tracey has been such an important part of the club, has taken fantastic care of the players and is such a lovely person with a very strong moral compass. She will be sorely missed. With all the positive news recently, we had to get one bad bit of news I guess. All the very best for the future Tracey. You are always welcome back!
  • Now i think back to the post-match celebrations in Boxpark when the squad were all on the balcony, i remember at one point Tracey was at the front looking down and was visibly emotional. Didn't think anything of it at the time and thought she was just overly happy, but now i wonder if it was because she knew she was leaving.
  • Tracey Leaburn's level of commitment to the club is stuff that Nathan can only dream of for his players.

Thanks and good luck to the future Tracey.
