Believe Murphy took over with four others after that at the eleventh hour in 2024 and was CEO for 2 months or so in 2025. Does not look good on him but don't think he is to blame for them losing their license, could see that coming from 100 miles away. Apparently they have now lost their license because they failed to deliver on promises made in 2024 even before their takeover.

Odd that there is still no announcement on this one? I think Jones credited "Jim"( Rodwell?) with how hard he has been working on transfers in the post Dartford interview. Doesn't sound like Murphy is involved at all or will be anytime soon1

Indeed it is rather strange to have someone, expected to have a major role in our player recruitment, completely absent from the summer window.5

On the 10th June, it was announced that his employment was subject to passing the almighty EFL's owners and directors test. Not heard anything since.0

Sure he can do some work on a "consultancy" basis in the meantime4 -

I say 2 years because until 2023 he was at Forest, and obviously passed a test for that role.4 -
They got far better things to do at the EFL like constantly pushing back any outcomes of rule breaches for Sheffield Wednesday, and the constant arse-licking and ball-tickling of the Premier League that they do1

Would he need a work permit?0

Not to defend the pathetic scum of the EFL; and I’m sure this delay is cos they’re picking their noses on a sun lounger somewhere at the moment rather than doing anything productive
BUT
equally, in the (probably unlikely) event that this delay is because they are actually doing a robust and thorough Directors and owners test, then quite frankly given our past experiences we should be celebrating and endorsing that fact. The club could still have its own ground and we might have had a very different last few years if these protocols had existed a few years back5 -

previous message. I’d rather everyone with substantial influence in football clubs was being scrutinised to the Nth degree
Football is a corrupt and sordid industry awash with wrong ‘uns and naive or deluded associates of wrong ‘uns, all desperate for the next pound or penny they can get their hands on at any cost.
The stakes are too high and there are way too many conmen, chancers with big promises and one hit wonder know it alls out there.9 -
I hope he's not working as a shadow director, or in an ad hoc, agency or consultancy basis while awaiting the ODT. It would be typical for Charlton to receive ODT approval for the new CEO and then immediately face sanctions because he's been working prior to the approval coming through.0

I think the club are rightly being very careful on this.1
