Wonder if he’s related to the Matthew Apter who recently joined Cardiff City from Everton?

He’s his brother, he mentions him here and as someone pointed out the other day Linda (his nan rather than mum?) follows Cardiff on X.

Reaction piece to the Rob Apter signing is now up on the website.

Includes input from Blackpool podcaster Tom Mayne, who is gutted that the player has moved on...always a good sign!

Richard is on Charlton Life! What a day to be alive!
Over 12 years now he's been on here and now is name is out of date.

Didn't use to post much but used the inbox a lot to pass on and get ITK info.
I'm here to give advice on handle changes
Ahhh, are you BigRob in disguise...🙄

Confirmed his brothers name but couldn't name check Linda, come on Rob.

Given that Apter is supposedly rapid but with no defensive abilities, is it time to leave someone (him) upfield for corners?

Very well regarded by the Tranmere faithful too:

Exactly the type of player profile I hoped we'd target. Very exciting signing and again kudos to the owners for seriously backing NJ with that kind of fee.
Undisclosed, you mean? (Insert confused smiley thingy, missing on CL)

From his statement I think it’s safe to say he passes the no dickhead test.

Who says he has no defensive abilities?

My inbox has one message from someone asking about work experience in 2013. If people do want to pass on ITK info then fire away! I did ask about handle change but it doesn't seem to have worked...

Improvement on Small? Time will tell...
He scored 8 goals last season & 13 when on loan at Tranmere. So a big improvement on Small. Don't care if he cant defend, that's the job of the 10+ defenders we have.

So old school is golfie - I love it.

If he’d been manager at Wembley he’d have said pre-match:

’1pm kick off this one lads - I know it’s hard to take but I’ve organised a Sunday roast for 12.30 and rhubarb and custard at half time. That should see you through. No fags for those with those piddling little shinpads though  - there’s a good pile of yesterday's newspapers here. Now c’mon, get on ’ya horse oils before we dish up.’

He seems more effective kicking right to left.
I better sit in the West Stand next season then.

My Scunthorpe contact says he was outstanding when on loan in 2022-23, in what he says was a very poor Scunthorpe team

Interesting that there's absolutely no reference to his position in the interview, either with Jones or in the narrative. Jones described Bell as a left-sided centre back and JRC as a centre mid so we know how they'll generally be used but other than Apter apparently fitting the structure well there's nothing. Maybe Jones doesn't even know exactly where he'll use him yet
sounds like he fills the gap left by Small
I think the gap left by small was the parting of the upper north when he had a shot.

Unrest in the Disney camp. Losing in Australia and still only Leicester 3rd choice keeper and Hardie through the door.
    Lovely news.

Have they really gone to Australia ? Didn’t realise that. Absurd distance to have players travel there and back and for what exactly? Few meaningless games and some publicity where nobody really cares.  Hardly an ideal training camp situation I’d say.

The owners are playing a blinder this summer.
And well done them. There has been a lot of scepticism about them, understandable given the ownerships since " Good Murray upto 2007. They have stepped up to the plate as they say in the colonies. Long may it last.

Still going to be a hard season.
