Millwall have signed Zak Sturge on a permanent deaal from Chelsea.
Well happy with that. Had him on loan for half a dozen games last season. Great player with bags of potential.
Assume he has only agreed to sign for such a small club because there is some kind of tiny buy out clause of saying, £1.4M in his contract to allow him to run away as soon as possible.

I’ll do a survey of the millwall fans I speak to over the next week and let u know if he’s any good - I don’t think u should be trusting your own opinion
😂😂😂😂😂 this is one of the best insults ive read on this forum for a long long time, well played @DOUCHER
John Swift has signed a 2 year deal to join Portsmouth on a free.
It was bizarre that he was down to play in that PFA free agent game, even if he never played in the end. He was always likely to easily pick up another Championship club.

That’s a big fee to drop on one player. Very interesting to see how much more they can spend. I’ve given up trying to predict how well Wrexham will do as I thought they’d be play off contenders last year and I got that quite wrong

Just more so Wrexham have gone from the National League to signing Serie A regulars. The fee doesn't surprise me.
I think they'll either stay up, or they'll sack Parky and stay up, I don't see them going down personally.
Last season I had them around the play-offs/just outside. I had Birmingham and Bolton autos. If you swap Wrexham for Bolton and Huddersfield for Orient, the top6 is what I expected last season.

Big fee if it's actually correct. Everyone will be wetting themselves because Wrexham have spent 4m on a player but it's probably half that.

The underperformance of Bolton, Huddersfield, Barnsley and indeed Peterborough did enable some less fancied teams to make the playoffs instead.
And indeed Wrexham to grab an automatic place, which I'm sure Parky privately wasn't expecting before the season started.
Wrexham could either stay up comfortably and end up in the top half of the table or it all goes spectacularly wrong and they end up in serious danger and potentially go back down again.
Depending on what other signings they make I can see them becoming unstuck in the Championship, they were able to out play a lot of league one teams but I doubt their new opposition will be so accommodating.
Our style was more basic and less aesthetically pleasing but might prove more adaptable to promotion.

It will be interesting to see how they deal with not having things all go well , if they start badly how much credit does Parkinson really have?
That is not the profile of signing I expected Wrexham to be after. Crazy money for a newly promoted club.
They like us have a lot to do in terms of new upgrades absolutely no way their squad last year doesn’t struggle in the championship their finishing place last year flattered them imo

Depends how many other players they sign. If they only sign another 1 or 2 then you may find we spend more than they do.
I'd rather spend £7m spread over 4 or 5 players than £4m on just 1.
The thought of letting Parkinson spend £10m+ is wild. They can't blow everyone out the water with documentaries and paying ridiculous wages now in the championship.

Their sponsorships outweigh anything a lot of championship clubs will have, the one thing they won’t be short of is money

Because television documentaries, sponerzhip what they can charge for advertising and of course new investment, they are one of the wealthiest clubs in the Championship outside of the 3 clubs relegated from the Prem. But with less player costs than ex Prem teams.

No idea if that fella would have improved them at all, but £4m seems pretty steep for a random left back tbh
