And well done them. There has been a lot of scepticism about them, understandable given the ownerships since " Good Murray upto 2007. They have stepped up to the plate as they say in the colonies. Long may it last.

Still going to be a hard season.
Get us that very good striker and it’s been a strong window . Hard to find, granted .

Reaction piece to the Rob Apter signing is now up on the website.

Includes input from Blackpool podcaster Tom Mayne, who is gutted that the player has moved on...always a good sign!

Richard is on Charlton Life! What a day to be alive!
    No promotes, though.

Henry's record haul of promotes is safe for now 😜

Unrest in the Disney camp. Losing in Australia and still only Leicester 3rd choice keeper and Hardie through the door.
    Lovely news.
Have they really gone to Australia ? Didn’t realise that. Absurd distance to have players travel there and back and for what exactly? Few meaningless games and some publicity where nobody really cares.  Hardly an ideal training camp situation I’d say.
Yeah but think how many shirts they can sell in Oz.

    And Hollywood Cymru TV subscriptions

Leicester’s  former 3rd choice keeper and O’Connell played for Wrexham in their defeat. Ollie Palmer who wasn’t good enough in league 1 but now it seems is good enough for the championship was up front.
What chance did they have against the  mighty Sydney FC  😂

I've heard that he's terrible when required to make any tackles... He tends to take chunks out of the opposition

I wonder if Wrexham haven't expanded their scouting programme as much as they should and they're now finding that in the Championship you can't just buy up all the best L1 and Championship players at the top of the stat charts because the bigger teams can't be pushed around as easily, and parachuting in a 33 year old forgotten Premier League striker isn't as much use in the second division. Would be a real shame that

I have been impressed with the owners from day 1. They have learnt by mistakes and  backed the club with serious money. I applaud you Friedman, Brener and Co, you have done the club proud. 👏
Day one is generous - Holden and Appleton were awful, as were a lot of early signings. The signs in the last few months are much better - good on them .

Don’t get the bitterness, they have been well run and financed for the last four years, something we haven’t.

According to another thread they have just spent £4m on an Italian defender so looks like they are moving forward

Sick of constantly hearing Wrexham signing this player or that player for millions and then an old past it player rolls through their door on a free.

Even today I seen a report Wrexham continue to splash millions on a player. I didn’t know they had even started so no bitterness,  it’s just tiresome.

I wouldn’t hold your breath on them spending this 4 million on a player.

I would rather have Friedman , Brener and Co at the wheel that’s for sure.

    Well… I didn’t see that coming!

As others have said, will be interesting to see where he plays. I’m anticipating that he is our replacement for Small in the more-like-a-winger-than-a-back right wing back roll vacated by Small’s departure. If that’s the case, then I make him our most important signing of the summer, so let’s hope he’s good.

He will no doubt need some time to settle into NJ’s style and demands, plus still bring young and stepping up a level so, as exciting a signing as he is, I hope people don’t expect too much too soon.

Nice to be in a position to attract someone else’s young prospects, rather than worrying about keeping our own.

This silly little creature has got a serious inferiority complex, his care worker must be getting concerned.
Or perhaps he hangs out in abandoned shop doorways in North Blackpool begging for money off of people who look like they've come from London.
He needs to worry less about us and focus on League One fun alongside the twunt from Clapton Orient.
Rumour has it that he learned how to spell vile last week so he is now bashing the sh!t out of it to impress his fellow knuckle scrapers.
  • Really pleased these players are coming in early and able to complete a preseason with us.

It's gonna be a tough season and we need to start on the 'B' of Bang (as Linford Chistie used to say).  It appears that we are giving ourselves a chance.

To the tune of APT by Rose and Bruno Mars

Didn't know how much we'd want you, baby
Didn't know how much we'd need you now
When you score, you send the covered end crazy
All you gotta do is just give the ball to

    Ah Robbie A-P-Ter
    Ah Robbie A-P-Ter
    Ah Robbie A-P-Ter
    Watch him run and run

    Ah Robbie A-P-Ter
    Ah Robbie A-P-Ter
    Ah Robbie A-P-Ter
    Scoring goals for fun

    And it's their winter too.
It’s still warm , even if they’re in Melbourne

I've long since learned to be a little sceptical about player highlight reels. But Rob Apter shows high quality skills, at pace, and the ability to both score and make goals. He looks a great signing.

Slightly peturbed to read that he tries to model his game on Jack Grealish, who seems to have lost his mojo at Man City. I'd argue that Grealish might benefit from basing his game on Rob Apter.  ;)
  • Yet another good signing!

The next ch-apter for our club feels more promising by the day.

(apologies if chapter has already been done)

Thats right - worry about us; be excited about us.

Could not give a flying F about any other team.

If we finish 4th from bottom next season, that will be good enough for me.

Look at where we were last September….lets keep it in perspective and get right behind NJ, the players and the club.

All this other stuff is gobshite

One thing that's impressive about him is the way he's progressed every season. A good sign he's continually learning and working on his game. Let's hope it carries on.

21/22 half a season in the 7th tier, 2nd half in the 6th tier
22/23 half a season in the NL
23/24 a season in L2, second half more starts and fewer sub apps
    24/25 a season in the L1

It's been good ever since they fobbed off Methven and Andy Scott, Rodwell remains but I imagine not for too much longer as there's only so much you can get away with when you're completely winging it.

Thankfully the owners seem to have seen through it all and are getting the right people in place.

I expect once all the clearances are done for Murphy that Rodwell will " seek new challenges elsewhere"

Nathan Jones really wasn't joking when he said that now's the best time to be a Charlton fan at Boxpark after Wembley, this is a fantastic statement of intent from the owners and management of the club. An utterly brilliant deal, take that Wrexham!
