The dugouts need complete rebuilding,  but that would be a major exercise requiring existing season ticket holders to be moved, so that the dugouts are the same distance from the halfway line.
I like that the away dugout is further from the half way line, little quirks that are beneficial to us, and these things are part and parcel of a proper ground, unlike these soul less bowls they build nowadays.
I hope they don't change the positioning.
During either Pardew or curbs time there was consideration to swapping the Home and Away dug outs because the away management were always to get in the linesmans back* throughout the game.

When Billy Davies accepted the job after Curbs (and later changed his mind) he was foibg to swap them

Hope these improvements never see another blue dug out again. Red only, ever.

I dunno. When we play Millwall at home, perhaps if we paint our dugout blue and the away one red, perhaps that will break the curse.

I fear when we play Millwall all the improvements may be undone and we may regret doing them too soon 🙀

I wonder how much a flame polisher is?  Would be great to see all the seats looking like new again.

Our dugouts are too small. Difficult to make bigger because of the supporter seating but at some point I think they’ll have to do it.

They'll need relocating too, so that both are the same distance from the halfway line.

-New flood lights, although don’t think they’ve gone in yet
    - new Digital Advertising boards - which may or may not be on the operations HQ box - around the pitch and upper tier hoardings
    - brand new big screen, which looks as if it could be rectangular rather than square
    - presumably some funky light show effects too if MaxMaze are involved
    - solar panels on roof (and Ops HQ box possibly) at somepoint

Seems a lot is going on at The Valley. Lots of ‘licks of paint’ too
I believe also there is a plan in the Curbs stand to put in handrails along the aisles due to the steepness of the stairs

Seems a shame to put lines on it. Even worse is putting 24 blokes with studs!!!
Even worse, it’s 25 unless the ref is not allowed studs.

    You’re correct!
CAST lead on this, leading the operations team at The Valley to research ideal ways to install without blocking the steps. Believe they settled on ‘P Rails’

To be picky the linesmen don't run on the pitch.

They run to the referee at full time acting like Max and Paddy to protect him.

New signage between South & West Stands says ‘bye bye Roland’ as they have purchased it back…
That would be the iceing on the cake along with Sparrows Lane.

But at the moment that’s only a dream.

Spending what the owners have on transfers was a dream too.

They run on a strip of astroturf that runs down the sideline.

Do they create less of an obstruction to the view for those sat near them?

Exactly this, tend to take up less room and less obstructive- and less space given up on stairs

A good example is this is at the London stadium

    If we’re winning they won’t. But when we’re losing…

I sympathise but I guess you will adjust after a few games.

Winning or losing we tend not to stand in the East Stand.

no, but they will restrict where you can put your Coffee Thermos, Soup Thermos, Tupperware sandwich box and spare blanket.

Decided after 31 years they are too steep.  Hmmmm.
