We have made some fantastic signings and have a fantastic manager but this division is a relentless one. I’m confident, but we really do have our work cut out. Should be good fun,0 -
Looked at the finances again - The 3 newly promoted sides last season Derby, Oxford and Portsmouth spent - during the entire season (not just summer window, both windows) €18.2m according transfermrkt, with a couple of question marks so probably nearer the €21-22m mark.
So far, just in this window - before Knibbs, Broadhead, Moore, whoever else we all sign, us, Birmingham and Wrexham have spent €25.2m.

It feels like all 3 newly promoted sides are just spending without any significant outgoings5 -
Wrexham after Conor Coady apparently0

Staying up would be such an achievement, you can only assume as well that it will get even stronger next season based on how the prem looks now.
We might need a bit more juice4 -

So instead we need to be looking at the teams we are ACTUALLY competing with, which hopefully puts us somewhere in the middle ish, without much chance of changing league either direction.
And on that basis I think we're going to be okay, we'll probably take a while to get going with all the new faces but by the end of the season I expect to be safe quite comfortably.2 -

Stockport have signed Nathan Lowe on loan from Stoke, be interested to see how he does stepping up to League One, after his Walsall loan.2

I don't believe for even one second we can get top 10 (if I say otherwise I am joking) but there will be a mini relegation table and we are in that I would say. It gives me a lot of hope that we are spending, and I am now fairly confident we could finish above Hull, Wednesday, Preston, Pompey and Oxford, who I see as the weak links in this league now, it would just be nice to see a bit more financial muscle to increase those odds if we can, as we are so close to having a very good side that we could build on for years.
A lot of fans from those relegation candidate teams have gone from writing us off, to worrying about us, which is nice to see, more of the same hopefully before the window slams shut.

Whoever picks him up has a great player potentially. Other than Sam Smith, and our own Charlie Kelman, I felt he was the best we played against last year and hard to ignore his form before Wycombe lost Bloomfield.
Really physical, quick, looks sharp. With the right coaching I could see him being really good, only 22. £5 million seems steep, but I could easily see him adjusting to the Championship in a better side.1 -

I hope he doesn't go to Preston as he will improve them, would rather it be Swansea if it is a championship side.
Shame as you say, but we have signed 3 forwards for roughly 7-8 million, can't complain1 -
Think Kone has real size, power and potential and young. Will be a very decent purchase for a Championship club.0

Those teams we'll have to fight for every point we get and realistically we probably we'll be glad for a scrappy point. It isn't going to be much fun but if anyone can get a team fired up for a scrap it's Nathan Jones.
The points that will actually keep us up will be against the likes of Portsmouth, Preston etc.
The top end of the league is very strong. We can't really expect to compete with some of those teams. But if we view survival and somewhere towards the top of the bottom third as a decent finish (which I do) I think our chances are fine.0 -

Not sure Oxford's or Portsmouth's recruitment has been amazing really given they didn't have the strongest championship squad, I wonder if they could be dragged into the scrap0
