Why test cricket is such and amazing sport yet also slowly dying all summed up here. Ebb and flow from session to session across 4 days following a topsy turvey series. Into the final throws of the game and series with everything as finely poised and exciting as you could hope for. Fuck off for bad light and utterly kill the moment. The sport doesn’t help itself sometimes.
The sport couldn't help the bad light
Was there bad light at 10.30 in the morning ?
No, but there was an unfair amount of dew.
As much as the water that was on the surface when we were fielding on the first day ? Sky showed water splashing up when Woakes was running after the ball.
Bethell is a fantastic talent but he's been completely mismanaged this summer. Should be playing all the time for Warwickshire and learning his craft , I know the County Champ has been a bit of a mess with the Kookaburra rounds and pitches being absolute roads but time in the middle is what he needs.
Agreed. He’s still got a better defence than the tail Enders though - Root should have been in his ear to say that 3 off 30 was ok
The umpires weren't checking the nick, they were checking if it carried.
Considering it went into the gloves at knee height I find that hard to believe
They always do. It's why the standing umpire went to the square leg umpire before referring it. He cannot give the batter out without reviewing it. Checking whether he hit it is an afterthought. That is standard protocol. India still have a review and there is no doubt whatsoever that they would have reviewed that even if it had been given "not out" initially.
Comments
Nonsense.
was ok
Pretty much all marginal decisions are given not out.
Anything that close has been given not out all series.
What the fuck that’s an absolute mile down hahaha. Farcical.
