Shocked to hear this. I was excellent for us and if you play football as a defender, watch some videos of that man play as he was one of the best. RIP Senor Jorge Costa.

So sad. He was only here a short time but he was one of my all time favourites.
Thoughts are with his family and friends.

    Rest in Peace Jorge Costa.

I can't remember much about him as a player as I was only 10 when he played for us, but my uncle's said he was class.

Must be one of the most impactful players ever for Charlton with such a short time spent here.

He was a truly great player and Jonathan Fortune learned a lot about the game from  the short time he was with us.
RIP Jorge and thanks for the memories.

That's so sad.😢 What a fantastic tank of a player this guy was. A Charlton legend and the best centre half I've seen play for us. So, so sad and so young. R.I.P Jorge - Forever an Addick.❤️

A 40 a day man in an interview on radio with Mervyn Day about Jorge when he was with us if I recall correctly

A rock at the back during his time with us and went back to his beloved Porto where he want onto captain them to European success

    RIP

    What shocking and sad news,
Not just the physicality of the man but could read the game and make sensible decisions under pressure. No slouch when in possession of the ball either
Enormous loss to the game and I suspect his family.
    RIP Jorge .

There are some great pictures of him online that bring back memories just how strong he was on the ball. Literally players just bounced off of him.

Yes unfortunately that's what I recall.
He was that good I'd forgotten he was only with us for a matter of months.
I thought it had been at least a full season.

I think he was he was the original one that

" comes from Portugal and fucking hates Millwall"

Should rest that chant now in his memory.

I may be misremembering but did Curbs recall that JC spoke minimal English but it mattered not a jot because of his sheer football ability / class?

Truly when we were at our pomp and signing him wasn’t so unbelievable.

    Good memories only.
