Only grumble was Kelman looked dog shit.5 -
Looks like it is appropriate to say 'it's what we do'.
Certainly these days under Nathan Jones.
That noise when Knibbs scored the winner. That noise!2 -

Why are Portsmouth above us in the table after a 0-1 win, when we are first alphabetically? Because they scored earlier, an away win?1

Better league, but still same 💩 refs, player off the pitch “injured” ref plays on for about 30 secs then blows to stop the game. WTF. We also had 2 good shouts for pens in the second half.
Indeed. The only thing that made me nervous.0 -

Sitting in the upper north, how annoying was the flashing on the led avert boards that faced us?3

Josh Pure Class Edwards.
Nathan Jones has prepared this team well.
We will be fine this season.6 -
Fair play to the Watford Manager, doesnt have a bitch and whinge about the penalty they should have had, I know we should have had at least one ourselves, but wouldn't have blamed him, had he brought it up
Reaction: Pezzolano On Charlton - Watford FC7 -
Great result
Fantastic noise for the goal.
A bit disappointed with the attendance - thought it would be 23k+.On the playing side, I thought Cov and Doc were a bit light today, and we won’t get away with not being 100% in this league.MOM was Ramsey IMO.4 -
I would say the weak links in that team today were Docherty and Tyreece. Kelman had an off day but early days for him.10

2) Goal difference;
3) Number of goals scored;
4) Head-to-head results;
5) Wins;
6) Away goals;
7) Penalty points (sec 9.5);
8) Number of 12-point sending off offences;
9) Play-off (only if needed to determine promotion/relegation)0 -
From BBC report of game.Who stood out?
While Knibbs will make the headlines for his late winner, it was another debutant in Apter that shone for the hosts.
The summer signing from Blackpool was the man who put in the crosses for both of Lloyd Jones' excellent first-half chances.
He also came close with a number of his own efforts and was a constant thorn in the side of Watford down Charlton's right flank.
It was the 22-year-old's first game at Championship level but he did not look out of place - despite only having one full season in League One last term.

Does that include Season ticket holders that are on holiday or decided to watch on TV as it was an early ko, as there looked less than 20k.1 -

There didn't look to be 5k worth of empty seats on the website a few hours before the game0

That was standout fantastic. Back in the Championship against a team who are well established there and with Prem ambitions. The game was a real seesaw, but we looked comfortable there and frankly deserved the win. Big shout out to Apter and Carey who looked a real problem to deal with. Edwards was a rock, as was Jones, Coventry was everywhere, and Leaburn and Knibbs caused real problems. I thought Campbell looked okay first half, but he gradually worsened, with some awful passing and a shot he took when an easy pass would have put Edwards in behind. But I think he'll settle in, as will Kelman who was a bit anonymous, but had little service.
But overall, avoid game of football, worthy winners, and we look as if we have bought well this summer.4 -
Hopefully when Miles is fully ready I'd like to see him and Kelman start, Knibbs, Carey and Coventry with the rest that started today.0

Now if they can just sort out the appalling service (shout out to the bar staff in fans bar who tried to charge me ten quid for two halves, offering to "show me" if I wanted, which when I asked him to, magically changed to 6 quid).1 -
Shows how much of an impact not shopping from the bargain bucket like previous seasons can be.
Transfers in have led to a big increase in quality rather than shopping around hoping for the best and relying on the kids to save us.3 -

I think it was mostly a relief of "we can cut it in this league".0 -

But makes you realise how hard it will be to compete in this League when you see that only 2 teams - Oxford & QPR - had a smaller attendance today.6
