Give more context then, or don't moan about it, if it's a situation that isn't that simple.
Why should I "give more context", you clown. Who are you?

All week I work with businesses who are devising ways to make "customer experience" easier, so they can more easily sell their product. But at Charlton they always seemed to have done the opposite, but putting obstacles in the way.

In this day and age, why is it not possible to buy a print at home ticket digitally two hours before kick off?

Why was the ticket office advertised as being open from 10.30am but still shut at 10.50? So I couldn't buy one to be picked up.

We surely want to make it as easy as possible for lapsed supporters to come back? Especially when there were thousands of empty seats. Surely that is something we all can agree on?

In this instance we failed. And I've been working bloody hard to try and get him back into the fold.

It was a s*** personal comment that was bang out of order by @sam3110 who even wanted to justify his comment by wanting the last word.

And not surprisingly @sam3110 has lol'd this post.  Staggeringly ignorant.

If this is the thread to have a moan can I just say…

How the fuck did the club not have enough Peroni, or working pumps for it; and

why weren’t they lining pints up in the Covered End (lower north) for half time ?

The OP came out with a perfectly acceptable post and this is what we get.

Don’t take it off topic if you don’t mind…

I'm not sure it's right to call the club "pathetic" and accuse them of putting obstacles in the way.

I'm pretty sure the club want to maximise match day revenue as much as possible. I think it's more a case that with the current ticketing system, obstacles are there, but it's taking them time to work through, improve systems and remove those obstacles.

They have just spent £10m+ this transfer window, it seems as though they're trying to run the club properly. Maybe give a bit more time for them to drag everything, including the ticketing system/process, up to scratch?
  • No more personal attacks please, just let it go.
  • I’m away for the next home game. Any seniors want to borrow my st.

  • Yep. That was uncalled for.
  • It’s been commonplace for the last 20 years or so since online sales started, that they withdraw online ticketing purchases a few hours before the match to allow walk ups. Most likely to avoid duplicate sales and pissed off customers.

Not sure why this is such a big problem, pretty much every club in the country does it

Surely they can do both? Withdraw some from internet sales for walk ups and leave some available for internet sales for those that want to do so. It ain’t difficult surely.

Surely if the ticket office had internet connectivity they’d be looking at the same availability as someone at home? No duplication need occur and no ‘off sale’ period.

    What am I missing?

It's an absolute credit to all the pre internet fans, that used to schlep down to the ground week in week out to pay on the gate, despite having no guarantee of getting in.
    Heroes one and all.
But it’s not pre-internet times, is it? The same approach that puts out videos with no captions so it’s unclear who the speakers are. It’s amateurish.
