Why was the ticket office advertised as being open from 10.30am but still shut at 10.50? So I couldn't buy one to be picked up.
We surely want to make it as easy as possible for lapsed supporters to come back? Especially when there were thousands of empty seats. Surely that is something we all can agree on?

It is bizarre though isn't it? If you want to buy online even ten minutes before kick off why can't you? Not rocket science surely?
Suspect it’s down to a combination of:
1. The way the ticketing system works - which may not be the most recent or logical of systems either; and 2. The staffing levels in and around the ticket office.
A number of Addicks were saying they hadn’t got their physical season tickets by today - which to my mind indicates shortage of staff.
No idea of the financial situation around the club, but it would be realistic to imagine that the commercials are pretty tight, and we can all probably appreciate that staffing costs will be the most significant outlay.
It took flipping ages to get served in the Fans Bar before the game and the North Lower bars at half time - all due to staffing levels and inefficiency.
We’ve been through a lot as a club and it’s probably taking time to get every area up to scratch. Pleased things are taking shape on the pitch. The benefit of large attendances should be seen in better customer service as staffing levels meet the demand.
But going back to the original point, yes it’s not unreasonable to want buy a ticket online right up to kick off, especially if it gets sent by email with a QR code. We just need the technology and the techies to make it happen.

I'm not sure it's right to call the club "pathetic" and accuse them of putting obstacles in the way.
I'm pretty sure the club want to maximise match day revenue as much as possible. I think it's more a case that with the current ticketing system, obstacles are there, but it's taking them time to work through, improve systems and remove those obstacles.
They have just spent £10m+ this transfer window, it seems as though they're trying to run the club properly. Maybe give a bit more time for them to drag everything, including the ticketing system/process, up to scratch?
Tickets have more or less always gone off sale 3 hours before kickoff, with them then available to purchase at the ground on the day.

It always amuses me that people think it is supporters’ responsibility to make things happen. Of course it should be clear to someone who knows nothing about the club (not @Off_it) whether they can buy a ticket. All the responsibility sits with the club.

The younger generation do everything on their phones. Some say they have the attention span the length of a tiktok video. If they can't sort something right away they will do something else they can do right away. They want instant gratification and if you can't make something as easy and smooth as possible for them then they wont engage and will do something else that is easier to do.
Yes, that's a bit of a sweeping generalisation, but it's not a criticism. It's just the way it is for many of them.
We need to make things easier for people to engage and connect with the club, not harder.
I was frustrated earlier because having been working on him for years to come back he'd finally showed an interest in coming. Not enough to make him queue up a week in advance - as some seem to think you need to do to be let in through the gate - but if I'd been able to get him a ticket he was coming to the game. I didn't. So he didn't. He got a stream to watch his "other team" instead. They lost. (Thanks Nathan Asimwe!)
