It's interesting how unevenly sized the phases are. Some are just 2 or 3 hours, whereas Phase 3 starts at 4pm on Friday and then runs until 11am on Monday, while Phase 6 starts at 4pm on Monday and runs until 11am on Tuesday.
The new phases on a day don't start until 11am, rather than say 9am. Does the ticketing system like a lie in
No...but if i manage to get in at phase 7 i am going to buy 2, and take someone who doesn't support Charlton so we can have a good day out...It’s my reward after all.
Do you seriously think that happens?
You’ve literally just made that up in your own head.
Heard people talking about it yesterday at Bristol...so yes it does some people just wont accept it. If it doesn't happen it will go down to the lower phases if i am wrong.

Pretty much all they post in this thread. Complete make believe stuff about other fans because they have to wait until phase 7.
Pretty much every single away match thread as well. It's not like it's hard to move up the phases
it is if you cant get a ticket cos some berk brings along his mate.
Our away ticket prices are based on Covered End Lower, not Upper.
That’s a stupid decision. That wouldn’t happen at any other ground. We’d be charged the premium
We used to charge a premium matchday price in the lower Covered End, combined with a cheap season ticket. There’s no reason why that area has to be the cheapest on matchday and if you have enough season tickets there it doesn’t matter what the matchday price is as there. It is the case that when we used the upper tier pricing for away fans the EFL took an interest, so we wouldn’t get away with it.
i complained about something similar at Villa in the PL and they moved away fans to the side as a consequence.
They moved the entire away end due to one complaint from you ?
The different prices for this game is a disgrace, not only are they stupidly expensive, it's going to cause rows amongst fans. Wait to people who paid £39 for a ticket have other people sitting in there seats.
I hope they add the 5 points for Stevenage tomorrow, as it will bump me up one phase. Cough, cough, the game was last Tuesday.
Similar to me if they add on the Bristol City points before 2pm I’ll move up from phase 7 to 5 means I’ll be eligible tomorrow from 2pm instead of Tuesday 11am crazy system.
I’m sure when high demand games come out the club see my points total and ensure I’m always 5-10 behind a decent phase or two.

As I recall we made a formal complaint to the PL as a club, which I instigated in the role I had at the time, and they then moved it, but it was 20 years ago!
They were certainly in breach of the rules, but I don’t remember the detail and we may not have been the only ones to point that out.

Amazing you are the only person who thinks this happens and by a huge coincidence are the only person to have heard people talking about it in Bristol.
If I were to guess, I'd bet that fewer than 5 people will take a non-Charlton supporting friend.

You have plenty of opportunity to move up the phases so that you don't miss out on the 2 games a season that don't make general sale. It's not an impossible task like following England or some of the prem clubs, the vast majority of our away matches don't even require points to get a ticket.
I'm stuck bang in between phase 9 & 10 with 380 points, meaning I've got to wait until 11am on Wednesday as opposed to 4pm on Tuesday. Really did want to get to this one, hoping there will be a few available by Wednesday.

One issue is that the more games are on restricted sale, the more difficult it is for people to qualify when they can already pick up the second ticket from family and friends. I am really not going to contact the club to allocate a ticket I've already bought to my daughter, say, when I can get her a ticket on my account. I don't think you can do that yourself online, so the people with the points continue to accumulate them (from the first ticket purchase each time) and the people who accompany them never accrue the necessary points, which aren't recorded, from the second ticket even though they go.
You could argue, of course, that this just means the "two each" model works better than some people assume.

It's like putting your children as second drivers on your driving licence. Cheaper than them getting their own insurance, but they'll never build up their own loyalty points no claims bonus

But here lies the problem. Lets say someone kindly buys me a ticket when I don't have enough points to buy one myself. I have paid for a ticket, travelled to a game etc but cannot (easily) get the points. If this happens 5-10 times over a season I could easily lose out on being bumped up a phase and being eligible, I am then hoping my kind friend doesn't want to bring along someone else each time. You should still be able to assign the ticket regardless of if they meet the threshold, otherwise they cannot gain enough points themselves
It won't actually be much of an issue this season though, most away ends will be big enough that tickets will go to general sale. QPR & Millwall probably won't but the majority of others probably will
As I'm trying to find any excuse to not do any work, quickly gone through and had a count up and there is roughly 850 tickets remaining heading into phase 4.

If that happens 5-10 times a season, then there is still 130-180 points up for grabs for you to very easily accrue, plus any cup games.
There is no problem with the current system and people really need to stop suggesting alternatives that benefit them for the handful of away games they want to go to.
