was the lower tier full on Saturday ? It didn’t look like there were that many empty seats in the other 3 sides of the ground where the home fans were.
  • You know when stadiums were designed back then, were people just a foot shorter on average?

I never understand how crammed in football stadiums feel. The average football fan is an unathletic bloke, but the chairs are so close you can barely move your arms, your knees touch people's backs.

Same as when I get on trains, I always think about the seat size, its like its defined for 8 stone and below people.

Where I was stood there was a couple of empty seats so I had space. Love the view of the game but it is deffo a crammed away end, pricing is insane for what it is.

Look at the highlights, it was half full.

It didn't cross my mind to try and buy tickets. I've been to QPR before, their ground is an absolute joke.
  • Plenty of leg room in the safe standing bit at the back of the away end on saturday

I just couldn’t see the goal line, I suspect that’s the restricted view bit 😂
  • The safe standing set up in that part of the ground was weird, just do the lot, instead of finishing halfway down the row!
  • Out of interest did it seem like more people stuck to their specified seats now that you can pick them? Or was it just standard stuff?
  • I sat on the halfway line and came away with a new aesthetic appreciation for LR as a ground. Would absolutely hate it as a fortnightly experience though. The concourses are impossible - makes any half time rush/queue at the Valley seem like nothing.

Too soon for me to watch any of that again

Most people seemed to be in their allotted seats. There were a few who weren't, resulting in one or two just standing on the stairs.

We stood in front of our allotted seats, for a change. TBH, that ground is so tight and non fan-friendly in design it would have been a real pain in the arse to try and find seats elsewhere, more so by the time we left the pub and got into the ground.

With people being able to pick their seats and there being FOUR different prices depending on where you sat, I think it was justifiable for people to insist on having their chosen seat.

Agreed, but must have been bloody difficult to implement.
A ridiculous policy of different prices in the stand behind the goal, unless there are two tiers I do not recall seeing this before.

What was available in the lower tier was pretty full - but the front 10 rows or so were cordoned off due to our lot being above.

We were on the halfway line and I now have a different opinion of LR - it's actually not that bad although very compact!

Front few rows were closed / had mesh over them

No, but they had terraces didn’t they? So when they had to convert them into seated stands they just packed in as many as possible with the aim of getting maximum revenue, instead of prioritising comfort.

Never terracing on the upper tier.

My ticket said I stricted view so was cheaper.  There was no obstruction to my view. Happy days.

My ticket said the same, so I sat in someone else's seat and had a perfect view.

I might be in the minority here but I love Loftus Road! I think it's a great stadium.
not keen on it personally Especially if you're near the back or the corner of the stand. You can't see along the goal line. When sarr scored back in 2019 had to rely on those in the lower tier to let me and those around me know that he had put it in as we couldn't see along that line.
    Pretty much my experience yesterday.
I saw Apter mishit his volley into the ground, watched it bounce up slowly out of my view.
I thought  it was heading wide but was sure at that pace somebody would have time to clear.
Couldn't believe it when the "yessssss" crescendo started.
Assumed one of ours had got a touch until I saw the highlights later.
We must have been in a similar area Y2.
We were in Y6, right in the far corner a few rows from the back
