Shit day at the office yesterday. Neil got a few things wrong  and was man enough to hold his hands up about it. The scoreline flattered them though. A 0-1 or even a 1-1 would’ve been a fairer result.

We always have a bad result every couple of months. (Think Plymouth and Blackburn away last season). It’s good to get it out of the way now so we can iron out any creases in time for our big game in September…. V Watford. 😁

Two games in so very early days. Just as I wasn’t talking about winning the league when we won at Norwich last week I won’t be worrying about relegation after a shit result the following week. As I always say, give a season half a dozen games or so before you start panicking or getting too excited.

On the plus side I managed to sort us some tickets yesterday so will be at The Valley for the game after all. Think it’s going to be an interesting one.
Just looked at the stats and Middlesbrough had more possession, more corners, more shots and more shots on target. You had 1 shot on target all game so to claim a 1-1 would've been a fairer result is a bit of a stretch.
The shot on target was hit at pace and cleared off the line. As mentioned above we also had a header that hit the inside of the post, come across the goal, hit the other post and come out. Not classed as a shot on target but as close to a goal as you can get without it being a goal.

First 15/20 minutes of the game we totally dominated. Middle section of the game was fairly even. They got the goal though, which meant we had to chase the game and left ourselves open from which they capitalised with the two late goals. If either of those earlier chances went in the scoreline would’ve been different. TBH they probably deserved it, but the 3-0 scoreline flattered them. And if it had finished 1-1 I wouldn’t have came away from the ground thinking we’d been lucky.

Anyway, busy busy busy now, got a big project starting today. Won’t be on here much but see y’all in September 😁👍🏻

haven't seen millwall fan on here today - is he on holiday? i just watched the highlights of their game from yesterday - they looked like relegation material - it was all boro - the only millwall highlight was their £5m signing from boro, coburn, missing a sitter of a header - i've not seen him before but 'he's shit in the air for a tall bloke' was certainly in evidence there  :D
We looked like relegation material from the highlights??? 🤣🤣🤣 you crack me up douchy

He was actually bang unlucky with that header. Comes off the inside of the post, across the face of the goal, off the other post and out. That goes in and it’s a different result yesterday. But not too despondent. It’s a marathon not a sprint. We’ll be fine this season.

    “Relegation material” 😂
can only say what i see - u were abysmal in them highlights - wave after wave of boro attacks - a bit like us at bristol yesterday second half but fair play, they managed to keep us out - you are right though - will be interesting at the valley in a few weeks time and we'll get a good picture of what's what - shame doughty looks like he's picked up another injury but at least u have coburn  :D
Yeah you can really get a true picture of a game from a 2 minute long highlight clip 🤣

We’ve got cover for Doughty in Bryan and Sturge. Bet you’ve got your fingers crossed we pick up a few more injuries before our game, then you might just have a chance to add to your tally of 12 (twelve) wins in 74 attempts v us. 4 (four) in the last 35. #smallwall 😁
was a 15 minute highlight show on sky and i didn't pick the highlights - a boro fan must have edited it

It was hardly wave after wave, I watched the same highlights and the first action was Millwall having a goal bound shot cleared off the line and another effort going narrowly wide

You may also recall the fierce shot in the second half that hit both posts.

fierce shot?- the header that coburn :D (£5m!!!) :D missed you mean ? boro were camped on the edge of their box for most of the second half when millwall should have been pressing for an equaliser - they were piss poor - i accept they can't be that bad again but i know what i saw

The game will be lively. There will be at least 12 minutes of ‘Charlton time’ added on for this match so if Millwall score in the 89th minutes that will mean 13 minutes to equalise and grab the winner. 2-1

It's good we are playing them at home early on in the season in my opinion.

Get this game out of the way. It is going to be a very difficult clash.

I remember Charlton being 4-2 up against them at home in league one and Millwall had 10 men. Parkinson was Manager.

I can't believe we ballsed that one up....

If we had the 1970 Brazil side reincarnated at their peak playing for us.

Millwall would still find a way to win.

You could at least get your stats right.
Apparently we only have 11 wins in those 74 games not 12! I can only conclude that you see number 12 incoming!
Also, it's 4 wins in the last 34, not 35.
I'm amazed that we appear never to have met in the cup. Seems almost impossible in over 100 years.

The cup draws have always been rigged so we do not get knocked out.

I was visiting wife’s brother who lives in Australia that Xmas. Asked my dad to send me the score. Was back in day when texts had limited characters and after  pleasantries and how our trip was going the first text ended with and match ended Charlton 4

was gutted when second text came through a couple minutes later just saying Millwall 4

Even if we're 3-0 when the ref blows the full time whistle I still wont celebrate until I'm absolutely certain he hasn't blown up early and they come back out again after everyone has gone home to play the last two minutes and we lose 3-4.

Look how horrendous these line-ups actually were. Apart from Cullen & Gallagher, maybe Lockyer, not one of those players gets near our current XI. We had a joke of a team last Championship spell. To a man the worst squad in the league at that time

Didn't help when we played Dillon up top did it
Funny you say this because I agree with you the second one looks weird. But, on the match previews they are written the other way with keeper at the top strikers at the bottom. Most contributors do it that way. When I've done it the other way round I've had comments in the past!

    Odd
