I hold no malice or grudge against MA. He didn't come to us with the intention to do a bad job. He just wasn't a right fit for us and was dispensed with promptly by the board when it clearly wasn't working.
We've been on an upward curve since which vindicates the board's decision and whilst his last 3 appointments suggest his career is going in the opposite direction, i take no pleasure from seeing that.2 -

Any conversation on worst managers simply has to include the worst of all, Guy Luzon.0

Fingers crossed because it’s earning a lot of Charlton fans a lot of money at the moment. Just put a double on Shrewsbury and Wednesday’s opponents each week.StrikerFirmani said:The director of football has taken the can for their start so Appleton has bought time. I read an interview of his on BBC where he stated he will have control of transfers and be manager rather than coach from this point.
Did this after reading your post. Tha fully with PP who pay out at two goals up, so even though Wednesday drew, I won. Happy days.

Shrews fans so unhappy (they lost AGAIN) that they’ve started adding #cafc to their tweets to bait the engagement3

Shrewsbury Town FC has received a total fine of £30,000, of which £15,000 is suspended, after admitting a breach of EFL Regulations for fielding an ineligible player during its Vertu Trophy fixture against Chelsea U21 on Tuesday 26 August.
The suspended fine will be activated if the Club fields an ineligible player in any other EFL competition match during the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Chuks was never going to pass off as a 20 year old, especially now he has a beard.5

I didn’t think Luzon was THAT bad, he certainly did okay for that half a season he took over from Bob Peeters, before he got shafted by Roland with his terrible transfer dealings…Athletico Charlton said:Any conversation on worst managers simply has to include the worst of all, Guy Luzon.2 -

Looks like he's had an ok career in Israel since leaving and he's now the national u21 manager. Karel Fraeye on the other hand...DDOUBLEE said:

The reason I'm so reluctant to slate the excitable Nathan Jones is partly due to the inanimate Michael Appleton.
He took over the Shrews last March and failed to secure League One status. He stayed on to spearhead the club's promotion bid. However, Tuesday's loss at Cambridge made it 15 defeats this season (6 in the last 7).
He has now left the club.5 -
Yet another pay day and somehow he'll get another job. Bloke is a leach, like a few others in football and they just keep getting away with it.2

Wonder if he took his hands out of his pockets to receive his P45.

Incredible that it took them so long to get rid. Their only league win (1-0) since mid-November came against 10 men Harrogate a couple of weeks ago. Of course we can expect to see him back on the touchline soon emotionless with hands in pockets!0

FWIW Shrewsbury actually played very well at Cambridge on Tuesday night, one of the top sides, and only lost to an injury time penalty. Fact they'd lost so many before that, (1-5 at MK Dons on saturday), and lost Chuks just before that did lasting damage.0

Didn't realise they were 21st in L2.
What a manager.2 -
Since getting rid of Micky Apples, Shrewsbury have just won 3 games on the spin and now sit 7 points off the relegation spots.
I wonder where the tactical genius will pop up next to weave his magic.
