Farcical end to Welling v Aveley tonight. Wings were 1 0 down in the 6th minute of 7 in injury time and the floodlights failed. After about 15 minutes to ref blew the final whistle and I thought the game was ended but apparently he abandoned it.

    Welling were fucking awful
And it never got any better today mate.
    Fucking awful.
Talking of the bars over Charlton, at Welling you get 50p  of a pint if you are a member of the supporters club.
    Me and my son are.
Ask for a couple of pints and show two supporters cards.
”sorry but you can only use one per order”
”but there are two of us with two cards, me buying for us both”
” no that’s how it works”.
order a pint and pay. Walk around in a circle then order another.
If it wasn’t hard enough watching the dross being served up, you have a fucking half wit to deal with when you’re seeking solace.
    Tough day,

Hopefully this means that Morecambe will get to start their National League campaign now.
    Have their players hung around?
    Not many left apparently...

Someone on the Shrimps forum said:
"Rod said on Radio Lancs yesterday there are 5 first team pros and 3 first year pros left."

There was some discussion about whether the manager would be lining up some free agents to come in if the deal goes through and the National League approve it all.

There are vast numbers of free agents out there, so no problem in building a squad if Morecambe are allowed to continue.

Sad to see how bad Welling are these days. The worst Wings team of my lifetime.

Was enough solid players in that PFA preseason squad that could do a job in the national league

"The National League can confirm its acceptance of the takeover of Morecambe Football Club.
The National League can confirm that following a meeting of their Club Compliance and Licensing committee earlier today, the takeover of the Club by the consortium known as Panjab Warriors Ltd has been approved.

The suspension of Morecambe FC will therefore be immediately lifted on receipt of the signed Sale and Purchase agreement.

However, the transfer embargo will remain until all football creditors, including players, staff and HMRC have been paid and payments due under the Sale and Purchase agreement have been satisfied.

It is the intention for Morecambe's first National League game to be on Saturday 23 August at home against Altrincham FC.

The National League would like to welcome the new owners and to thank everybody involved in helping to secure the future of the Club and reaching this point."

Hope the selling owner doesn't start playing games again.

So they have less than a week to sign about 10 players?

As we as find a new manager as they just sacked the current one.  You'd think maybe give the guy a run to get some stability?

Think they always had it in mind to appoint one of their own.

Things are moving along at Morecambe.
The takeover by Panjab Warriors has taken place. They have paid overdue wages, footballing debts and HMRC tax bills.
A half dozen or so new signings have been announced and tickets are on sale for the 12.30 kickoff home game against Altrincham FC this Saturday.
I have a ticket and am looking forward to going. The atmosphere should be good, but can't see it beating the last game I attended (Charlton v Orient at Wembley - some of you might have been there).

Morecambe have beaten Altrincham 2-1 in their first game of the season... Would love to know how much prep they had, what with their ownership issues being resolved only recently.

Charlie Kirk was booked and subbed in the match

Great atmosphere. Morecambe took an early lead but went in all level at half time. The Morecambe players had a few fitness problems in the second half, which led to a bit of booing from the visiting fans but they got 10 minutes of added time. Unfortunately for Altrincham the home team made the most of it and scored in the 98th minute. The 3500 home fans were delighted, as I'm sure were the new players, manager and owners.

You’re joking mate. With the 30 seconds left we would have smashed them 4-1
As for today, bit of a smash and grab victory.
Got quite an injury list developing with a few players being asked to play out of position.
Needed that win though, and surprisingly Chichester had their own raider supporter.
Wish I took a video of the tattooed prick as it was comedy gold.
CVPM home on Monday which could be tough as they got a decent result today.
    Nice place Chichester.
