Leaving aside my feelings about the competition, having watched the last 20 minutes, that's a terrible advert for T20/short form cricket. A form which should be about big hitting, and sixes flying into the crowd. That pitch looked completely limp.1

I have TNT (BT Sport as was). If England could actually be competitive for the first time since 10/11, I might have been tempted to stay up to watch more of the recent series...0

I get so sick of posters like you. Can’t you respect my opinion without your snide remarks. I am finished with this forum and Social media in general. Bye2 -

22 year old Dewald Brevis, against Australia, has just hit the highest ever score by a South African in international T20s - 125 (56). He also achieved the second fastest South African T20 hundred - off 41 balls - after being just 14 off 12 balls.0

Glad to see Saqib Mahmood back. Gotta be an outside bet for the Ashes.
That is an odd looking squad tho0 -
Really weird squad. How's Tom Hartley still around???0

Bethell captaining is mental2

These squads are some honking Hundred-pilled garbage2
-
In the last 10 weeks, named as the youngest ever England captain today, Jacob Bethell has batted 10 times in all forms of the game and scored 83 runs in total. That's just over 8 runs a week during the middle of our summer.3
-
Potts, for someone under central contract, has bizarrely fallen out of favour, so reduced to just being picked for the Ireland T20 series.1

Sonny Baker I haven't seen a huge amount of but I guess he's this year's John Turner.0

Prompted by a ballot email from The Oval, I've been looking at next summer's international schedule.
Two 3 match Test series, NZ in June, Pakistan in August/September. White ball series in July (India) and September (Sri Lanka).
Curiously NZ play 2 tests in a row in London, the first at Lord's, the second at The Oval. It feels odd to have the Oval Test in mid June. Maybe as consolation, it gets the final ODI of the summer instead.
Lord's of course gets 2 tests, plus a women's test against India, the first ever at Lord's.

Presumably 19th July to 19th August is the Hundred?
At least there are some Tests in August, but it leaves the Edgbaston one really late.0 -

And the England Test players will presumably be back with England at least a week before the Pakistan series starts, so realistically the all format players will miss much of it anyway.

Away from England, Pujara has announced his retirement from international cricket. A slightly curiously timed announcement seeing that he hasn't been picked for 2 years and in the recent Test series was in the TMS commentary box!0 -

I'm a bit confused by that Pujara statement because I think he's actually retired from all cricket? Was a privilege to watch him bat with Steve Smith for Sussex and I'm sure he'll be on TMS for years to come.0
