    This weekend's fixtures are:

    Plymouth v Blackpool

    Huddersfield v Stevenage

    Wimbledon v Barnsley

    Northampton v Exeter

    Crawley v Tranmere

    Hornchurch v Farnborough

It’s great to see our youngsters being developed at other clubs (plus older players getting minutes) instead of the other way around as it has been in the past. Also leaves some room for one or two more permanent signings.

Pat Casey has joined Maidstone on a 28 day loan (these often get extended)

Notice that he says about being in contact with the Walsall Manager for much of the summer, so this has very much been a move that's dragged on a bit.

The video of his interview is worth watching, speaks really well and sounded keen to learn and impress.
  • Had a word with the Maidstone owners not long ago as they are close friends about developing more of a relationship with Charlton as they have so many talented youngsters. Mentioned to them lequeretabua too but that might be a stretch too far

    Are Maidstone a professional outfit?

I think they are or are close to, they had that monster cup run a few years ago that boosted their finances

  • Injuries ruined his development, him and Kanu were more or less the same level but look where they are now

I get the impression as well with Casey that he was perfect for U18 Football, but hasn't been able to quite replicate that in U21 Football, because he doesnt quite have the physicality

Its why we've also seen Mbick favoured a lot more, given their similar scoring records, whilst both have had pretty bad injuries.

Kanu on the bench for Walsall who also kick off at 12:30

Casey has scored quite a few for the U21s hasn't he so think that a little unfair.  Agree he needs to improve his physicality though

Dixon starting the game for Crawley.

    Mitchell starting for Plymouth.

Ahadme on the bench for Stevenage.

Taylor starting for Northampton (currently winning 2-0 already).

    Asiimwe starting for AFC Wimbledon.

Kanu played about 30 minutes in a 1-0 win for Walsall (goal scored before he came on)

Kanu got a mention in the BBC report of the Walsall game:
Walsall had multiple chances to seal victory after the break as Saddlers substitute Daniel Kanu was denied by a fabulous fingertip close-range Young save and saw a looping header foiled too.
Sounds like a good start then

Patrick Casey came on at half time for Maidstone, and got subbed off on 86 minutes. Doesn’t appear to have picked up an injury.

Walsall fans seemed to be promised by Kanu when he came on

If true that's not a great way to treat a young pro on their first game.  Assuming he was just playing poorly and not giving attitude etc I would be pretty disappointed if I was the Charlton team who look after loans.

These two comments from the Maidstone forum make it sound like bad management.

Nice to know that ex Addick Nathan Harness is doing well there, presumably a familiar face for Pat

Alex Mitchell really impressing at Argyle. I have to say though, even as an Alex Mitchell fan, and having 0 ill will towards him, reading their thread in Pasoti (main Plymouth forum) is very difficult.

Some of them make out like they have signed our best defender etc. Bit of a difficult read. Doesn't really impact us but still, the assumptions are crazy.

It's only his second game! By all accounts he led to a goal on his debut by playing somebody onside.

Hearing that he's impressing there makes it come across that he's played a dozen games since!

90% sure this is correct so far, league appearances only as keeping track of the EFL trophy would be a pain otherwise. Would it be helpful for me to add an average rating from Fotmob? Might not be possible for Non League loans

As someone who knocks one out to fotmob and sofa score ratings, that would be appreciated.

Could be an idea to use sofascore, fotmob, and whoscored if you have the time mate.

I don't mind sending you those after match days to help out if it's a bit much 👍🏻

Just seen one of the Wombles goals from the weekend, he doesn't get the assist but good work from Assimwe to get the ball in
