Kanu learning from Walsall’s two elderly strikers.
Jamille Matt has been a consistent lower league player for quite a while .. he was instrumental in FGR's promotion to L1in 2021/22 .. as said, Kanu can learn a lot from him .. I hope we recall him at Christmas, our 'new strike force' is just not firing on any cylinders
I think service is the main issue, I don’t think Kanu starting in this team improves things. Leaburn’s hit the bar but other than that I don’t remember Kelman, TC or Tanto having any chances I’d expect them to score.
good points, however Kanu at present can't be any worse than those you mention .. he'll come back confident (presuming he keeps his form) after a loan spell in a decent team .. as ever we will see

It's the middle of September FFS, anything can happen in that time, including Kelman scoring 7 or 8 goals and Kanu not scoring again
  • I think once Kelman gets one the floodgates will open.

The issue is more around chances we are creating for our frontmen rather than their ability to put them away.
  • So kanu wasn’t good enough for league one last year. He scores two goals in league two and suddenly he is going to be the answer for our goal scoring problems in the championship.??? Could be the early overreaction post of the year.

I feel like we are repeating exactly the conversations we had 1 year ago.  Jones' teams always start slow and then pick up pace Nov / Dec time.  Keep the points ticking over so we don't get cut adrift and trust the process.  It was also true of his Luton team.

It was very poor but the only other one I can think of, and as much as he should have scored we can’t be relying on TC scoring headers to get results.

Described as a “tidy strike from range” on their X account

Must be noted that he’s playing an U21 team but hopefully he can carry the confidence into the weekend
  • Sam Parkin thinks that Charlton's Mitchell is the key that is holding up Plymouth’s backline in the absence of their two first-team centre-backs.

Plymouth are facing a crisis in their defensive department with Kornel Szucs out for four to six weeks and Julio Pleguezuelo out of action until Christmas.  Argyle’s defence have conceded 17 goals in seven games and Mitchell has featured in their last five league matches, helping them secure three wins.

Crawly kit is unreal, even the sponsor looks good. Would love something like that for Charlton

Wasn't Kanu one of the 4 players instantly taken off in the first minute yesterday? obviously not down to performance but due to the rules of the comp.

That's the National League Cup rules. There's similar rules in whatever that cup is called now but they're a lot looser

I cannot think oif a better reason to take him off, if his team is not even playing.
