https://x.com/danielmarsh92/status/1958580401309450248?s=46&t=A-w3Eq0EWWpjMxring904QWould be absolutely gutted if Ivanovic went but I just can’t see it. We have him on a recently signed 3 year contract and have no reason to sell.Ivanovic going no where according to his uncle on twitter.Alfie will be back , but in the meantime we’ve got good cover for that position.Delightful indeed 😊
Football fees are ridiculous right now, and i wonder how long it will be before we see the next club crashing and burning due to financial issues. It definitely won't be you though, Flemming, Esse and Tanganga must be 30m in incomings over the past year now?A lot of people were taking the piss out of us for having such a low buy out clause with Tanganga, but having that clause was the only way he would’ve signed in the first place and as it happens, that was only for PL clubs. None of who showed an interest, so really worked in our favour in the end. And a very low risk gamble for us as we signed him on a free anyway. It was a no brainer really. And yes about 30 million for those three players. Ivanovic will be worth at least half that himself at the end of this season. It’s good because the money is always being reinvested in the team where as in the past when we sold one of our star players the money would just get lost in the running costs of the club.
Is it £10m though ... it's what I'd read (£6-£7m)
You make it sound as though Millwall are Brentford or Brighton, when in effect you've sold one academy player and scouted one player for Europe, it's hardly a tried and trusted player investment model. It might be good for the bank balance but it also won't help you progress up the league. Lets see on Ivanovic he's literally had half a good season.
Alfie will always been injured he gets a major injury every season
I'm still not clear why we have a Millwall fan on our forum anyway.
A 100% increase in Millwall fan engagement today alone. All because of you.
On to your post. At no point has anybody tried to make it sound like we are Brentford or Brighton. Not once. MF has been engaging with fellow Lifers around transfer activity of Championship teams, which includes us. He's even had the temerity to answer questions posed directly to him, the hooligan.15 -
MF and BBW are genuinely good posters with really interesting insights into both the inner workings at Millwall and other champ sides.
Tanganga going for £6-7m after signing him on a free a year ago is very very smart business.16 -
West Brom set to sign CB Chris Mepham on a free.0

Didn't Millwall want Caleb Taylor?
Suspect he will go there with the Tanganga money.0 -

The thing with Crama is that he's looked very adept at right back when he's played. Very good defensively/positionally but also not shy in getting forward in the style of a wing back. Not the greatest end product (the cross for Neghli against Norwich aside) but does push the opposition winger/right mid further back than other options we have. Leonard isn't getting any younger and I'm not sure McNamara is up to the style of play we're trying to implement, when he's eventually fit again.
We also have Kamarl Grant who is getting minutes after a loan spell with Bromley last season. Very raw still, but hopeful he can stick around the first team squad and develop. Then there's Wes Harding who, if I'm completely honest, is a decent pro and will give everything, but not someone you want as a starter in the Championship.
All in all, I'd be surprised if we didn't sign a centre half before the window closes.3 -

Well I’ll stand corrected and put aside my deep distain for that club. Sorry for only joining 2 months ago, not really sure what I can do about that.I honestly felt the poster had been implying that because a couple of recent good deals had been done Esse(?) and Ivanovic they had turned into Brighton and lauding thier transfer genius, but each to their own.The only thing that really matters is we finish above as it will mean we’ve stayed up.0

Looks like it won't be JRS to Southampton after all, appears they're about to spend £10m on Tom Fellows from West Brom2
-
Southampton and Ipswich selling to the PL, but able to then to weaken the better Championship sides.2

Suspect he will go there with the Tanganga money.
All in all, I'd be surprised if we didn't sign a centre half before the window closes.2 - Sponsored links:

I worked in Deptford when in my teens and most were Millwall fans as well as the Millwall captain at the time
They got a lot of pleasure by inviting me to the Old Den to watch us lose
Had no problem with any of them and became good friends with some1 -

Norwich City midfielder Marcelino Nunez is set to make a shock move from the Canaries to bitter rivals Ipswich Town. A deal worth £10m is expected to be completed with Norwich selling as the Chilean is in the final 12 months of his contract.
Nunez underwent a medical on Wednesday night and could be unveiled before Ipswich's Championship fixture against Derby on Saturday.
It represents the first major transfer between the East Anglian clubs since goalkeeper Andy Marshall made the same switch in 2001.

I'm sorry for your loss, having lost a best friend 4 years back to CF related lung failure it's heartbreaking
I have my reasons for not liking Millwall but that's on me. Lets get back to the football and I'll bit my lip when it comes to that lot.0
