Another assist for Wimbledon who lead 1-2 away at Bradford. Reminder that Bradford took Wimbledon’s previous RWB and POTY winner in the summer.
Nathan more than filling those shoes5 -
Maybe we were a bit hasty sending him out on loan, although in friendlies his final ball was pretty lacking.Callumcafc said:Another assist for Wimbledon. Away at Bradford who took Wimbledon’s previous RWB in the summer.0 -
Bradford make it 2-2 almost immediately oh well0

I still think it makes perfect sense to send him out on loan to a league 1 team where he can hopefully get a full season under his belt. I’d bring a loan in at RWB cover/competition and then we can see where Asiimwe is at the end of the season. He’s done himself no harm and they love him down at Wimbledon as it standsForeverAddickted said:

Could even bring him back in January if we think he adds to our squad for the second half of the seasonRugbyAddick said:

He should have the full season, let him develop and play lots of football. If we go down again we could have one of the better full backs in the divisionNabySarr said:

Thought i'd check how he was doing on loan at Salford. He hasn't started any of their 5 games since signing, making just 2 sub appearances totalling 35 minutes.
Salford are sat 13th in league two and he can't even get a start.0 -
Away with Uganda now so missing out on the chance to gel with team mates and play in the EFL trophy too.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Thought i'd check how he was doing on loan at Salford. He hasn't started any of their 5 games since signing, making just 2 sub appearances totalling 35 minutes.

The player he's competing with, Oliver Turton, has lots of experience in L1 and some in the Championship so it was always going to be a struggle to displace him.1 -

Yet some people thought we should have kept him and even suggested he started in the league game after Spurs away. I said I thought his level was League Two or NL. I’ll stick by that.Thought i'd check how he was doing on loan at Salford. He hasn't started any of their 5 games since signing, making just 2 sub appearances totalling 35 minutes.

He is getting rave reviews on Ugandan Twitter, delighted for the kid6

Maybe he's the solution for our right wing problem?

Then that has to come down to a poor loan on our part.fenaddick said:

Surely someone at the club could've researched this and potentially suspected he might not play much. In which case why send him there?3 -

Great experience if he manages to displace him though and I bet Salford offered a better financial package than anyone else. I agree it is looking great so far but it's a long old seasonChris_from_Sidcup said:

We had to send him somewhere, or else he'd take up one of our squad places. Or be left out altogether, like Burke.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

And, of course, money talks (even if it is reducing his wage from the budget)killerandflash said:

Give him a chance he’s only been there for 3 weeks. I’d back Asiimwe to displace a 33 year old CM filling in at wingbackChris_from_Sidcup said:

asiimwe is the only natural rb in the entire of Salford squad if he can’t get into the side then finding him the right loan would have been irrelevant because if you can’t get into that side then he would never be good enough for Charlton1 -
Starts against Libya5

If you look at how Salford are playing, it’s a 3-5-2 with 2 wingers as the “wing backs” in a very attacking system. Playing on the right is Luke Molyneux, who last season was one of the best players in league 1, let alone league 2. They’ve got by far the best squad in the league so seem to be able to get away with playing this wayCrispywood said:

Will be tough for Asiimwe to get in ahead of their best player, and probably the best player in the league. Have to hope they get found out for playing too attacking and need an actual wing back there or change systems, otherwise he isn’t going to play much if it’s between him and Molyneux2 -
Lovely video of Nathan and his family after yesterdays game
