The size of the Wrexham squad is ludicrous. So much deadwood now.

Almost as many players as real supporters 😘

You say that, over the summer they’ve got 21 players out the door (14 gone, 7 on loans) and have brought in 13. So they’ve reduced their squad quite significantly.

What they have done is bring in real quality, Regardless of how they fund it, they are not just striving for survival as their goal.
  • Personally think Wrexham have had a great transfer window, arguably the best in the league.

We would all love to be in their position with spending surely, I know I would.

Super signing for Frank Jnr .. Swich have now sold both Woolfenden and Burgess, their defensive mainstays for the past few seasons .. i m o both are better defenders then O'Shea and Greaves their replacements
Either Woolfenden or Burgess would have suited us 100%, now both have gone to good Championship clubs

Nice work, though that West Brom figure is wrong. They've brought in way more money than they've spent.

Indeed the number of club who have negative net transfer spend is surprising, with late sales and money not being spent. Many of those late sales being to Wrexham.
  • Personally think Wrexham have had a great transfer window, arguably the best in the league.

A net spend 3x higher than 2nd highest. That isn't a great transfer window, that's sheer indulgence

Good spot meant to be negative 11.5M not positive makes us the 4th highest net spend

It might have worked getting up through the leagues but think the championship is where that stops, small fish big pond regardless how much they spend.

Not sure I'd be trusting Phil Parkinson with £35m personally....
Agree, going to be interesting to see how their season plays out. I get that he’s never really impressed at this level, but until now he’s mostly had small budgets, and he’s a lot more experienced now. I wouldn’t write off him doing ok, but then how much is that down to his management, how much having a few top Championship players to carry the team?

The Wrexham financials are going to be fascinating this season, as that's a ludicrous sum of money to be spending in a summer. It's not as if their commercial income this season will be massively bigger than last season, as it was already really high, and with the Kop end being empty, their gate income will be lower unless they really jack up their prices.

Other than Callum Doyle who is young and could improve, I can't see the rest of their signings being the type of player who will leap in value either, as they've already paid a full price.
  • Ben Mee .. Brentford to Sheffield U (has this been listed before ?)

Yes, 2/3 of the way down page 35.

Will try and put together a final summary tonight or tomrrow morning. I didn't have time last night with updating the thread with the incomings, and had to be up at 6am this morning.

Will then follow up with the analysis in a couple of days for those interested.
  • Parachute system is one of the reasons why I will never see CAFC a top flight team again in my lifetime.

led them to back to back to back promotions. I’m sure they trust him more than enough
