Hopefully the Club do, as we have for this game previously, remember Jimmy and Rob Knox together.8

You've become far too lenient in retirement Mr Munro - standards must be maintained!2

Will this be the first game when two brothers have been on opposing sides for charlton e.g the mitchell brothers zach and billy likely to be in the match day squads?0

The game that had us all going up Charlton Lane was 2013 not 2017.Weegie Addick said:
We did this after a member’s query a little while back. Thanks for prompting us to share more widely.PragueAddick said:@Weegie Addick @castrust would you proactively ask the club about the policing arrangements for after the game? Head them off at the pass before the final pre-match meeting of all the "relevant authorities"?
Here is the full response from club SLO:“I have spoken to the relevant people at the club who want to assure you that we will not be holding back home fans like what happened in 2017. This was done for a serious matter, but we will not be doing this again. The club are working closely with the police who are working externally during the event.Despite ownership changes, rest assured that all club staff are aware of the issues this fixture has caused in the past. The staff that work for the club full-time, and on matchdays, are all well-versed in how best to approach and work this game.I hope that this helps solve any concerns. Ultimately, any out of the ordinary decisions that are made around the day, will only come from external recommendations of the police, but we are all working hard to ensure that the Millwall game is enjoyable and safe for all fans.”
What happened in 2017 that the trust felt the need to raise?3 -

This! That 4-0 game back in 2010. Loads of Charlton leaving when the 3rd went in straight after the 2nd and then me following when the 4th went in 5 minutes later.PragueAddick said:@Weegie Addick @castrust would you proactively ask the club about the policing arrangements for after the game? Got outside to find several hundred Charlton penned in by the police with the gates locked. Still 20 minutes to go, the cops had a chance to get most of the Charlton fans away, into London Bridge and probably back out on the way home before the game even finished. I put this to one of the cops whose response was that the decision to keep Charlton fans back had been taken the day before. No one on the ground was able to use common sense and deal with a situation of half the away fans trying to leave 20/25 mins before the end.

It was me and my Millwall supporting mate that organised this previously. Was a very enjoyable day and was hoping to make this a more regular thing, unfortunately we got relegated and didn't have the opportunity to organise again until now but we've both been too busy to sort anything out again!bobmunro said:TelMc32 said:Hopefully the Club do, as we have for this game previously, remember Jimmy and Rob Knox together. There really is some very good history between the clubs.10 -

It may only seem to make sense to you, but to everyone else the 21,000 ticket sales includes Millwall fans.letthegoodtimesroll said:letthegoodtimesroll said:
That would imply 6k tickets still available. ????barstool said:Over 21k sold just released
some of the East and West stand blocks look like they will start fading out today, if not by lunchtime, but quickly glancing at the availability and 21k sold would only seem to make sense (if that really is true) if it only refers to home fans. The big worry then is, if my approach is better (and it may well be totally flawed), is whether the person counting the tickets is also checking how many pints of Peroni the club has in stock and how many it needs to order.2 -

So the ONLY thing close to trouble at this fixture you’ve seen was caused by Charlton. I know you are on here to defend Millwall’s name at any given opportunity. But that’s just nonsense.MillwallFan said:
Maybe I’m being naive, I drive to the vast majority of games I go to so I rarely see what happens at the stations. I can only comment on what Ive seen and I haven’t seen any trouble at any of the Millwall charlton games I’ve been to in recent years. Actually, tell a lie, when you had the bottom tier at The Den a few years back your fans threw a flare on the pitch and a couple of seats, smashed the bogs up and made a half arsed attempt at ‘charging’ the home ends down in the corner. That’s the closest thing I’ve seen to any trouble but it was hardly a return to the bad old days.paulsturgess said:
Bizarre perception. I've been to every Charlton Millwall game in the last 30 years including friendlies and there's almost always some kind of agro whether it's in the ground or outside or both, and primarily (albeit not exclusively) instigated by Millwall fans from what I've seenMillwallFan said:
Fair enough. I missed that. Shame. I don’t thinks it’s that sort of derby.JoshrewCAFC said:
There were some very ugly scenes at the station after our pre-season "friendly" a couple years back. The worst I've ever seen actually. Both sides involved of course.MillwallFan said:
Sorry to hear this. Can I ask you how long ago that was? Can only say our away crowds are nothing like they was 10 or 20 years ago. I’d be very surprised if there was any trouble around this fixture in a couple of weeks. Of course both clubs still have a ‘risk’ group, and I think they’ve had a few clashes over the years (and I recall some straight going Millwall fans got attacked by some Charlton in a pub at London Bridge a few years back, resulting in prison sentences for the Charlton fans so it can work both ways). But by and large this isn’t a fixtures that gets the hooligan element excited. They’re still about. But very much in the minority these days. And they rarely cause trouble in or around the ground. When it does happen it’s usually miles from the ground and with like minded individuals. I’ve said on here before, I can’t remember the last time I saw trouble in or in the vicinity of the ground at any of our away games and we more often than not will mingle with opposition fans.jose said:The only drag is that having been on the receiving end of violence from Millwall fans in the past (the only other time was ironically Luton fans) I will avoid the train and seek a different journey to and from the Valley.
The attendance number isn’t an issue for me, the only issue is trying to get a point or three from the match.
So I can understand people's nervousness to travel on crowded routes.2 -
