I'd suggest what you are saying is total rubbish.
Of course I'm familiar with the area but drinking there is out of my price range, the Woolwich boozers work for me.
With all due respect, your family member saying there's NEVER any of your geezers there has to be cobblers.0 -

I think he just says it how he sees/experiences it
don’t see any arrogance in the posts.13 -

A week to go and probably heading for 26k on the day I suspect with more blocks likely to sell out in the next couple of days and once they go the others will come close3

Probably a lot slower than others on here but I’ve only just noticed 8 of London’s teams are at home on Saturday, with 3 more playing away in London. The 5 PL games and ours will probably sell out or be close to it. Ours will possibly be the 4th highest attendance of the day in London given the list includes Palace (only got 24k for their last PL home game), Brentford, Wimbledon and Orient.4

I've seen the atmosphere at the Market Porter as a bit more than edgy, let's just say.1

If you've seen a lifetime of experiencing/seeing if not participating in proper violence, supporting Millwall, then some supporters being loud and obnoxious wouldn't register the same as to a non football following gentle female.
I have to say when Charlton arrive back in London on the train and many start singing loudly, it's just fun to us, but not to the people standing on the platform thinking what the hell is happening/going to happen.15 -

They coincidentally arrived at Waterloo at the same time.2 -
Editing my comment because Covered End pretty much covered it and don’t really want to get drawn in to the debate again.4

A few points for you all. Most “firm” or connected wouldn’t be seen dead making a noise or drawing attention to themselves. They wouldn’t go in the usual public places or anywhere there’s a camera and play up. If there is a meet it’s off plot 9 times out of ten.Although if the right people bump into the right people all of that is out of the window.2

Some sort of general London fight occurring at a March @cafc_se7? Are you some kind of Russian bot??2

Made the decision this evening to come down for the game, bringing the wife along for her first experience of the valley (her only other games were Oldham away and Leeds away), although she wasn't keen on sitting in block A of the curbs stand

Here is the full response from club SLO:“I have spoken to the relevant people at the club who want to assure you that we will not be holding back home fans like what happened in 2017. This was done for a serious matter, but we will not be doing this again. The club are working closely with the police who are working externally during the event.Despite ownership changes, rest assured that all club staff are aware of the issues this fixture has caused in the past. The staff that work for the club full-time, and on matchdays, are all well-versed in how best to approach and work this game.I hope that this helps solve any concerns. Ultimately, any out of the ordinary decisions that are made around the day, will only come from external recommendations of the police, but we are all working hard to ensure that the Millwall game is enjoyable and safe for all fans.”
Yes of course I’m being deliberately but hopefully humorously pedantic.Maybe they also authored the ‘20,000 Millwall tickets sold’ !!!😉😆
Anyway it’s good news. It's not the wording I would have used. 'like what happened' could perhaps have been 'as happened' - 'police who are working externally' is fine, assuming it relates to policing outside the ground rather than in the stadium - and 'solve any concerns' could perhaps have been 'resolve any concerns' or 'allay any fears'. 'This was done for a serious matter' may well be something to do with intelligence obtained by the Police in 2017, with the writer choosing to withhold the details. All that said - the message is clear without necessarily deserving of a nomination for the 2025 Pulitzer Prize!0 -
