    Fair enough, Ninja - a pointless tangent. Olympics will have to be fantastic and offer (non frivolous) long term benefits for it to quell my worries over the costs.

    How come ours is cost 10 times that even taking into account that they already have a stadium and the Winters are smaller?

    Montreal was a summer Olympics, and they basically used it as an excuse to re build the city.

    the actual cost of the games is £2bn - all the rest is govt. spending on regeneration of East London, using the Games as the springboard/excuse to do this
