It seems odd that he was only questioned in June this year. So he would have been about 35 at that time...he has not been arrested.

The alleged spiking is understood to have taken place at a cricket-themed pub in Chelsea, The Boundary, which is co-owned by England cricket’s head coach, Brendon McCullum and white-ball batter Jos Buttler, among other members of the England set-up.
The 50-over World Cup winning captain Eoin Morgan, the former one-day international batter Sam Billings, the former South Africa captain Graeme Smith and the Ireland cricketer Paul Stirling are also shareholders, as is the England and British Lions rugby union hooker Jamie George.
None of the sports star owners were present at the time of the alleged incident, which was said to have taken place on the first day of England’s one-off Test match against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge on 22 May.
Due to the pub’s ownership, the England and Wales Cricket Board has been aware of the allegations for some time. When contacted by the Guardian it declined to comment.

Ah. ok. My apologies. I misread that. It could be anybody.

Other news outlets have described him as "Renowned" "high profile" "well known" and "A top English cricket figure". So not gonna be someone who played the odd ODI.

Although you may well be right in this case, I find your faith in news outlets as being only interested in reporting the news (and so avoid resorting to misleading headlines to oversell a story and therefore boost interest) quite charming.

Always the way though, I remember there being a big story about a 'top Prmeier League star' having an affair that turned out to be Gary Flitcroft, and have the time the 'renowned international footballer' has two caps for Nigeria or whatever.
Ireland in the second half of September. The perfect time of year to play cricket...
One can only back "no completed game" today at 1.01 (or 1/100 in old money). Feel sorry for those sitting there in a forlorn hope that there will be play,
Ireland in the second half of September. The perfect time of year to play cricket...
If they could move The Hundred to January, I’d be happy.
What is the problem people have with The Hundred ? - really dont get it tbh.
It's a shit competition that has ruined the domestic 50 over competition. It means country championship games get moved to dates that don't give spin bowlers a chance. Serves absolutely no purpose apart from making ££££££ for the people who came up with the idea.
Here's a thought, why don't we just have first class cricket 50 over cricket 20 / 20 cricket
The 100 is an abomination and can fuck right off if you are a proper cricket fan.
I'm a 'pwopa' cricket fan, and i like/enjoy it. Its far from a 'shit' competition' - i find that comment a bit childish tbh. 50 over cricket is dying globally anyway, not just because of the 100. Plus, the 100 has paid off the debt of all the counties . So, cant be that bad.

Because it replaces and takes away players in the middle of summer when we should be playing international cricket of all formats instead of days like today in mid September when it’s pissing down …again.

Exactly. And you can see how other countries view the Hundred by the lack of take up of the format

Granted that our Test match players tend not to play in the 100 (although off the top of my head, Duckett,Smith,Pope,Tongue,Archer,Brook,Root as an example all did this year) - but agree we should be playing Tests whilst its on - however, it seems that with the new Indian ownership that they are enforcing all the Test match players are available as part of the new 'contract' which i dont like. However, to embellish it as a 'shit competition' is a bit excessive.
When the domestic 20 over comp was inaugurated, it was regarded as 'hit and giggles' but soon became the top comp domestically - you may well find the 100 to do the same - not just here but also globally. Certainly in terms of attendances its already there.

Yesterday's finals day at the Blast proved the Hundred is utterly pointless. We already had a fantastic domestic white ball competition.
I honestly dont see what the problem is. In football there are many competitions, League,FA Cup,League Cup, other cups. I really dont get the negativity re the 100 (aside from the fact that we dont play Tests during August any longer, which i disagree with.) It gives an opportunity for our young players to be around greats such as Smith,Warner,Williamson etc. which can surely only benefit them - i mean look at Will Smeed yesterday.
@Zulu The problem is that our summer is too short to have four competitions. One has to go. The Hundred and T20 Blast are, in terms of skills, very similar. T20 must be the preferred format as it is recognised worldwide. Abandoning 50-over would mean abandoning another format recognised worldwide. Effectively, we are abandoning 50-over, as it’s been demoted to a second-rate competition, yet is the preferred type of format for grassroots club cricket. Arguably, 50-over is the best World Cup as it is a good measure of skill between each nation. Why? Test cricket doesn’t lend itself to world championships (the current final is a poor relation) and T20, as we know, hinges on too much luck. A team can have one bad day or one batsman has a lucky day and the weaker side wins. If we drop the T20 Blast and persevere with the Hundred, that leaves a lot of good county players twiddling their thumbs for a month (and maybe longer soon). It’s a difficult one but the Hundred is the bad egg for me.

Ridiculous and sublime - 2 words I've used before
Brilliant 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Just a shame we've not got all the England players playing. Would have helped Lancs
Hampshires Scott Currie called up to replace Saqib Mahmood who needs minor knee surgery

There are plenty of other articles stating that 50 over cricket is on the wane.
