I believe Surrey have won Div 1 of the CC in each of the last 3 seasons with 8 wins. They might win it again with 6 victories but could actually be champions with just 4 wins.
Just to be clear that when I say this I am not having my usual dig at Surrey, but how can a team win any sporting competition with just 4 wins from 14 matches? A combination, at different times, of Key's Kookaburra ball experiment, poor weather and wickets not suiting spin has contributed to making in making it very difficult for a positive result.
Sad to see the Oval England Allstars having a bit of a nightmare - from 101-1 to 129-6 with Burns (47), Sibley (14), Pope (11), Foakes (10) and Lawrence (0) all out.
Definitely going to be a result there.
Yep. A Surrey victory
Still confident? Burns, Sibley, Pope and Foakes all gone and still needing another 160 runs to win.
Need to break this partnership straight after lunch because although all the others can bat, they are all going to struggle to hand around in these seam friendly conditions - Tom Curran is in next and he has a FC average of just 19.47 from 86 innings. It's then Atkinson (20.42), Fisher (18.36), Lawes (16.06) and Worrall (13.24).
What happens to bowling points/batting points when the game is rained off after 1 team has batted? Unlikely as Kent are to get any batting points, it does seem unfair they won't have an opportunity to when you can get more batting points than bowling
Weird amount of surrey chat on the last few pages #obsessed
Well someone has to do it for "Surrey no mates". You can hear a pin drop on their thread - their supporters have said more about the stripey Nigels on CL in the last 16 days than they have about their own cricket team. In fact, you've said more on this thread than there.

Afraid that is the way it is structured. It is quite unusual for only one team to get to bat in a match though. We also did win the toss and elected to bowl.

Patel, Curran and Lawrence gone. 69 to win with 3 wickets in hand.

As I said yesterday, I don't think that any team should become CC champions with just four wins. Notts, providing they draw their final game, will do so with six wins which is more respectable.

We keep going through thin and thinner!

34 runs needed and the final pair at the crease
