Absolutely stonking performance by all players involved.
Nothing flukey about the result, we could easily have got more.
    At 1.0 I did predict 3.0 however.

Absolutely buzzing, not even the most rank of refereeing can dampen tonight's festivities.

Wasn't there, flying back from holiday tomorrow but the commentary was great and the performance sounded brilliant. We actually thrashed them second half, every time we made a change, we actually got more dominant, Gillesphey, then Leaburn, Tanto, Knibbs and Ramsay, it's like having two teams. Even if the starting front two don't score we have enough fire power in the rest of the team to put teams under pressure. Picking a MOM out of that will be tough, good luck with that task.

I've just spent 6 days hiking to Santiago along the Santiago de Compostela. Clearly someone upstairs has decided to reward me in this way  :D
    Which Camino? Ingles?

Very satisfying win. Blackburn didn't offer much but second half particularly we didn't let them, Coventry and Doherty won everything in the middle, Bree and Bella were superb, and everyone put in a shift.

Well that was jolly good wasn’t it?
    Delighted for Macaulay & Sonny.
Some great performances but I thought Coventry edged MotM for me.

    Bloody marvellous 🤩

  • If Greg Docherty had a barn stormer of a game in midfield last week, Conor Coventry was just as good this week. Winning the ball, pressing hard and some great forward passes he showed the lot today.

But maybe still not my man of he match. For that step forward, James Bree. All I can say about his performance today is who was that Thierry Small character? Wow, can we sign him up before Southampton decide to give him another chance?
  • First 20 minutes was diabolically terrible from both teams. Thankfully we managed to get out of first gear, Blackburn never did.

Tanto has to start ahead of Campbell now, much more direct and better pressing. Made both the second and third.

Watched kelman warm up and really looked like he couldn’t hit a barn door.

Gillephey changed the game when he came on, his aggression just lifted the game out of the malaise it was in. Won everything in the air and on the ground.

Leaburn and Olaofe have to start next game. TC fluffed so many chances today and as I say he doesn’t look like ever scoring. Kelman just as ineffective too tbf.

    We stay up comfortably imo.
TBH, i'm looking upwards, to top 6 , rather than downwards - we were superb today

Well from a quick squiz at the Player Marks thread I think @Leuth has a new Charlton love of his life.

Everybody's talking about Birmingham City and Wrexham, but look at us... 😎
Let them carry on talking about them, under the radar, that's exactly where I want us to be
  • Excellent performance.  I am really surprised by Doc, Coventry and Carey.  I wasn’t sure how well they would adapt to the step up in league but our midfield has been really good.

Burke looked knackered at the end and given his injury history, probably will be on the bench Tuesday with Ramsey starting.  I wouldn’t be surprised if Leaburn and Tanto start Tuesday as well.

Sir Chris Powell and Lord Bowyer meet

    Saint Jones

A tough watch for the first 15/20 odd minutes both sides guilty but Blackburn had the better moments with morishita looking dangerous, but once we got going, we got going.

    3-0 flattered them.

Carey - superb getting back for that block/ tackle that could have seen Blackburn through one on one, that happens and then its a totally different game.

Tanto/ Leaburn - changed the front lines dynamic, strength, power awareness and a touch of class.

Bree - outstanding, we've seen a lot of players described as "mustard" "too good for league X" etc but Bree is a proper bit of quality.

2-0 home win and up to 7th what a day.

Edit* big shout out to Macca, what a way to reintroduce yourself.

  • The local Lancashire telegraph yesterday have been banned by the Blackburn board due to negativity. Doubt this result will help relations.

I thought we were excellent and dominated that. Could have been more. Blackburn are a solid side at this level and we made them look bang average

Fantastic. Big day for the unfancied players as well. Another clean sheet for Kaminski, a goal for Gillesphey despite his lack of appearances, dominant performance for Docherty and even a reminder from James Bree that he's not just an old Luton mate, he's showing Rob Apter how it's done as an attacking RWB. We're in the rare position where good players are being kept out by better ones; Gillesphey had done nothing wrong but Bell and Edwards couldn't be dropped either. Apter started well but Bree has a goal and an assist in two starts. JRC has over 100 Championship appearances but how do you drop Doc? Kayne Ramsay of all people couldn't get back in the team. Selection headaches that don't revolve around which player will cause the least damage are something we've not had to think about for years, it's a nice spot to be in.
Bree has a goal and an assist? You might wanna check your maths there...

Seriously, I am throwing some LOLs back when I said we are a better team than Millwall. It isn't too early to do it, it is blindingly obvious.

Most complete performance in years. Blackburn did well to keep the score down
  • Magnificent 2nd half.   Great stuff

Yeah was their best game as a 3 for sure, hunted in packs and by the end were just picking them off in midfield. Was a great individual performance from Coventry too.

I don't know if we were good or not but fuck me Blackburn looked Sunday league and didn't have one strong position on the pitch imo. If we came away only 1-0 winners I would have been very disappointed. Finally we put 3 past a team and it could have been more.

We never needed to bring 'protection' off the bench and felt we could have brang even more attacking players on to put more past them. Well done the boys and NJ for getting the job done. UTA UTA UTA.
