The Addicks could even afford Reece Burke to miss a sitter at 1-0. After early substitute Macauley Gillesphey had scored within a few minutes of coming on, second-half substitute Tanto Olaofe had a big hand in the other two goals, finished by Sonny Carey – a sweet strike – and James Bree. This combination of physicality, fluidity and fearlessness could take Charlton far. It’s already taken them to 7th.3 -

Just back from a weekend away - Watched the highlights and looked like we stormed it. Love it.

Obviously opposition teams notice that Lloyd Jones normally gets his head to our corners and free kicks, which is why he had three opponents marking him for our first goal1

Points dropped — Derby (8) have lost more the most points from winning positions in the Championship, with Norwich and Wrexham just behind them on 7.

As a slight aside - Lloyd Jones has probably had 5 or 6 efforts on goal - all saved, some really good saves. Am I right?6

I keep watching the Carey goal back. It's unbelievable tekkers to hit the ball that hard with no backlift. If the stand wasn't in the way, the ball would have skipped across the channel to France.

Nice to hear Jed Wallace say Tanto is one of the best people in football and he's glad to see how well he's playing. Interesting they both say Tanto is one of the best at what he does in the league.5

Interesting to see the clubs who were with us in the playoffs not doing very well apart from Stockport. I wonder if we would have struggled like them if we had not got promoted0

Of course, if we'd NOT gone up, who knows who we might have lost. But we didn't..

It's impossible to build long term in L1 as a smaller club, as if you don't go up, you'll lose most of your best players. Bigger L1 clubs have a better chance of keeping players, as they can at least pay higher wages. Barnsley keeping Keillor-Dunn for example.1 -
