I will admit that I love watching this Birmingham team struggle almost as much as I enjoy Charlton winning.
Are they struggling? They’re currently mid table. Ok, they haven’t been setting the world alight but I wouldn’t describe them as struggling as such
With the amounts both teams have spent on fees & wages they should vying for a play off position.......and doing it in style. That's what Hollywood expects.

Compared to what they were doing last season and rubbing every other team's noses in it, yeah they are having a nightmare.

Their fanbase fully expected them to roll everyone over again.

We’re only 8 or 9 games in. Still a long way to go. I generally try not to get too excited/despondent until we’re ten games in. As I said on the other thread, we was 21st last season after the first 12 games but we ended up finishing 8th and was challenging for the play offs on the final day of the season.
  • A draw here would tonight would be nice, if we can capitalise on that. Little Charlton quietly climbing up the table as the heavyweights falter... 😇

    Wrexham V Birmingham

The female presenter, "Lets hope the Hollywood Derby produces a Hollywood Blockbuster". Didn't someone once call this a circus?

George Dobson starts his 50th match for Wrexham.
Despite them spending a lot of money, he's played 90 minutes in all their Championship games so far.

What’s that, Think it’s 16 draws in last 25 champ games with only 4 home wins?

I mentioned this on another thread - leave out the games involving the bottom 3 and it's 32 out of 73 matches (43.84%) that have ended up draws. There's nothing between most of the sides and a point is one won rather than lost at this stage of the season for that reason. In League 1, by comparison, they've had just 22 draws from 118 matches (18.64%).

The other issue, and this is reflected in the lack of home wins, is that Championship sides are far stronger at defending and lack that sprinkle of sparkle that you find in the PL. Coventry, in second place are the exception with 22 goals but the next best is 14. Middlesbrough are top with just 12 goals and the teams in the top half of the table are struggling to average much more than a goal a game. The thing that unites them is that goals against column with all of the top 9 sides conceding between 5-8 goals.

Seeing as they spent about £30 million last season to get promoted, I think they expected a bit of an easy time of it this year too.
BTW it's good to see you back on here, we were all worried when you disappeared after the derby.

Maybe Andy Scott was possibly wrong when assessing Dobbo's abilities and value to this club?
    Stranger things have happened.

I think there was a lot of expectations their squad from last season with a few additions would just roll through the Championship. They're finding it's all well and good spending the kind of money they've spent but half the league can now spend that kind of money not just them taking advantage of the laxer rules in League 1.

Being a Millwall fan that can string a sentence together, you are obviously a rare beast and it's good to have differing opinions on here.
You also keep us informed of what happens on the dark side of South London.

Could be a big score for Coventry v Sheffield Wednesday, 1-0 already and Coventry have been scoring for fun.
  • Coventry 1-0 up after 3 minutes. Hopefully they are peaking too soon

Protests at Wednesday. Quite reminiscent of ours, back in the day.

A few Wednesday fans got on the pitch to protest. Only a handful by the looks of it. Stopped playing for 5 minutes. Back underway again.

If Barry Bannon wasn't playing for them they would definitely go down points deduction or not. He is their main playmaker.

Been watching the Hull v Sheff Utd game for the last 10 minutes and can't believe how quiet both sets of fans have been.

Guess it's good news that ham sandwich man with the other Sheffield side are losing 1 nil to Hull atm.

Wednesday now 3 nil down. They aren't happy as the locals believe it was offside.
