Went to see Jaws 50th year anniversary at odeon imax in Norwich. Saw original in 75 with my mum and dad at Sidcup. Brilliant film, one of my all time favorites.2

The Roses was pretty funny, Olivia Colman in really good form.
Won't be a classic, but enjoyable, 7/10 job.0 -

Won't be a classic, but enjoyable, 7/10 job.The sort of film that would inevitably however end up on TV at Christmas (pre streaming days) due to its cast.0 -
Just seen the trailer for the new Wuthering Heights.

Yeah there were some dodgy accents in there too, especially Jamie Demetriou.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:

Just watched Nobody 2 . Entertaining but not as good as the first film as the element of surprise isn’t there .2

Watched ‘Thursday Murder Club’. I didn’t mind the book, but the film was shit. Poorly cast and they changed the ending to fit running time. 3/103

The book is far better. For me the main character is Joyce and her diary entries. Shame that’s missed out in the film but probably difficult to include.ValleyGary said:Watched ‘Thursday Murder Club’. I think if you wanna go down that route you make it a 3 parter. Bogdan and Ron were terribly cast, Ron screamed to me Ray Winston or similar.Solidgone said:

Just saw this trailer as well. Bigelow is my favourite female director. Really looking forward to it although I'm not a big fan of disaster movies - I don't know what this one is about but it looks like a disaster movie.carly burn said:Looking forward to 'House of Dynamite' next month on Netflix.

Yep agreed with the lack of surprise element, but all action comedy (sort of) was worth a watch 7/10Bedsaddick said:Just watched Nobody 2 . Entertaining but not as good as the first film as the element of surprise isn’t there .1 -
Tried to watch the Ice Cube War of the Worlds to see what the fuss was about. Understood it after a few minutes and didn't feel any need to watch more of that.
Tried to watch F1 but it felt like one long advert mixed with a bit of Eastenders, combined with the F1 video game, which is also a long-winded advert for a sport dominated by adverts. Even as a casual fan of the sport, I was rolling my eyes at some of the exposition. I didn't get very far. Might try again sometime but there's so much else to watch I can't see it happening unless I am extremely bored and/ or stoned.
I did watch all of the recent French remake of The Count of Monte Cristo and fucking loved it.

TOOTING RED ARMY - Hi CAFC CAT - its really awesome film , I went to a special screening on Monday @ Ritzy Brixton it was packed despite the tube strike and is playing this week at Showcase Bluewater well worth a trip to see it & at other Showcase cinemas on their website. A classy British film which deserves a wider audience .....1 -

Row review – impressive, largely unknown cast keep seagoing horror afloat
A woman washes up on the Orkney island of Hoy, the only survivor of a transatlantic sortie in Matthew Losasso’s debut feature, a twisty if murky chiller (Link below to review)
Winner of best feature film at Raindance Film Festival 2025.

Agreed - Not sure how they are going to do any of the other books as Bogdan is a pretty major character in the other stories.ValleyGary said:

Went to watch the new Spinal Tap last night. I wasn't expecting much, but I really enjoyed it and laughed a lot.

One Battle After Another
Almost three hours but it flew by. Hard to describe this film briefly. It's part satire, part action movie and very watchable. It doesn't take itself entirely seriously, the villains are cartoony, especially Sean Penn. Decent performances throughout.
Never mind the plot holes, enjoy the ride. 8/10.

Not 'latest' but watched The Guilty on Film4 this evening and greatly enjoyed it. Danish thriller involving an emergency services call handler getting embroiled in an incident whilst it's going on. Reminiscent of Locke, the tom hardy single hander, itself an excellent film, in that there's really only one actor on screen for 95% of it, the rest just voices on calls.
Very intense and claustrophobic, utterly absorbing. Subtitles, but for me that never detracts from a decent film.0 -
I just finished up watching the John Candy documentary on Prime, I recommend it for any fans. He seemed a great man; a real force of nature.1

Saw I Swear yesterday. Absolutely brilliant. Cast were amazing. Highly recommend it.2
