    Looks good.

Would be nice for some decs/boarding etc below it
I'd have thought it will be boarded out, it's another dead space not being utilised for adverts.

I think it would work better if you had the score and time central with the teams either side. You don't need to make the score numbers much smaller at all to fit them in, and it gives you more width for the player names. Having a black band the same width as the one behind the player numbers makes it easier to see the red or yellow card and scorer indicators

This would be a lot, lot better than what was on show yesterday. I wonder if the club will be open to the suggestion?! You're important enough @aliwibble

It looked alright and worked fine yesterday - reminds me of my computer monitor at home.

One thing I did notice yesterday was the "ghost" of the scoreboard set-up staying on screen while it was showing other things - a bit like pub TVs where the Sky Sports News graphics are burnt in after years of being tuned into the same channel. Hopefully that's something that just fades after a while.

@GreenWithEnvy I'm glad you like it, but I think you're vastly overestimating my importance :)

Well didn’t @g@golfaddick say the images have to come all the way from Preston! 😉😆

He aint taking a dig at your son. He was making a joke that all the players on the board have the same surname "Surname".

It just goes to show how far we have come if we are moaning about the size of the brand new score board compared to 10 years ago when we were wondering if we would have a ground at all.

With the ground starting to get a long overdue spruce up, new scoreboard, new floodlights.
I am starting to think we might be getting premiership ready.

Or five years ago when ESI were in charge.  Feels good not to be watching over our shoulder all the time (although the spectre of Roland is still there).

It is going to take a brave man to use the new portaloo they’ve put underneath the screen during a match

I can't wait to get down there tomorrow so I can get my first view and vent my spleen at the disgusting disgrace of a new screen.

I'm packing the rocket launcher and dogshit projectiles so I can properly make my statement. Gonna post it online immediately for maximum "likes" to fulfill my life and justify my existence.

    Not impressed !
I have no idea what TV format this is, its not wide screen 16 x 9 or a recognisable Cinema screen?
Why isn't it higher, it should be twice the height & filling in the corner of ES & JS stands?
How can you format TV footage into this screen?
only one happy probb is feeeesh as he has longer swim?

It wont’t be used for 1 singular image. It will be dual / triple use (footage / teams / adverts?).

Examples in this thread from the women’s game

Apart from the fish of course. That will be full screen, hi-def (am I the only one looking forward to this bit today on the new screen?).

To be honest, the "Feeeeesh" on the screen lost its appeal for me after Mark Fish stopped playing for us and we got relegated from the Premier League.

Since then - for me anyway - it's just a sad reminder of how things used to be. A few die hards shouting it in a 7000 crowd at home on a Tuesday night just never compared.

quite right, and that Red Red Robin thing reminds me of days of huge crowds, ban it... and that Tunnel Jump has lost all meaning since SCP left, and don't get me started on that Valley Floyd Road.....

Just stating my opinion. "Feeeesh" makes me cringe.

    Apologies if that offends.

As a counter to this, I'm too young to really remember Mark Fish playing for us but I love the the fish on the scoreboard and really did as a kid. It was something memorable that stuck with me then and is always one of my favourite moments of a match now

    No need to apologise

@gringo was going feeeshing for a bite

It's very awkward to explain to visitors at the Valley that a handful of ppl shout Feeeesssh because we used to have a player called Mark Fish 20 years ago.

I'm old enough to remember when us getting excited over a fish on the screen once made it into the newspaper match report (if I recall, it was a highlight of the game too). It's cheesy as hell, and maybe a bit fickle too.. but it's something I enjoy SO much as it's all part of the Valley experience, it'll always bring a smile to my face every time the crowd goes FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISH.

Wonder if any other clubs have some any unique things like it, but to me it's a wholesome part of being a Charlton fan and I'll always think it's wonderful
