Not too dissimilar career wise to Josh Magennis

Bonne        played 396, 91 goals at an average of 4.35

Magennis  played 547, 96 goals  at an average of 5.6

Bonne has fallen off a cliff and now turns out for Malden and Tiptree at the age of 29, whilst Magennis played for NI against Germany last night, aged 35.

It must be all about attitude.  I get the impression that Bonne thinks the world owes him a living whereas Madennis quietly gets on with making the most of what he's got.

Josh has done the business (to a certain extent) at every club he's been at and I dont think anyone has a bad word to say about him. Hes a proper professional and international footballer. He should never ever be mentioned in comparison with Bonne!!!

Also, almost all off Bonne's goals are non league, whereas Magennis has been playing league football all of his career.

I was staggered he had a career back then.  I was staggered he went to QPR for money.  I was suicidal when he returned to us.  I'm amazed he still has a job now and find it crazy he played at AFCON

Dreadful footballer and not a great human being

He reminds me of the taxi driver that turned up at the BBC to collect someone, and they thought he was the digital expert and rushed him through to the studios and interviewed him on live TV. He's like the football equivalent of that.

His ass scored more goals than his left foot. Right place, right time.

  • Still trying to find his level which is clearly not in the top 8 leagues of English football.

Did alright in the Championship, then just petered out. Think it went to his head.

Is it too late for him to have a bash at Formula 1?

He was about to take a free kick and was making sure the wall was back the full 10 yards.

Perhaps anyone can hit the form of their life, where everything is falling for them, but they will eventually fall back to their basic level of ability. And even the Champ, his general ability was clearly carthorse-level.

Still find it absolutely mental that he got 11 championship goals for us. Dreadful player

Once played at their ground in a match arranged by the place I was working for at the time (Gartmore in Brentwood).

Only time I've played at a ground with advertising hoardings. Great sliding tackle sent their player flying over it.

Pitch muddy as hell - it was so bad that when I had a shower afterwards I went in with my kit still on to wash all the mud off.

I knew one day Bonne would stoop down to my level 😄
