Mocking our relegation in 99.
Attacking us at Hillsborough in 2014 and many other runs in with the 'orrible northern bastards.
The last time we were relegated it was because the efl didn't deduct their points for breaking the rules in the same season.
I'd be very pleased if they spent the next 20 years in Leagues 1, 2 or non league.
The following week the Mercury published a list of all those arrested. Oh how we laughed.0 -

Imagine being so sensitive that a stupid comment from a player about 10 years ago, and a few idiotic fans (of which we have a few ourselves), is enough for anyone to show zero sympathy for a club and generations of its fans that have followed them for 158 years.
Seriously, some of you need to grow up a little bit.27 -
Treat people with respect and (if you're lucky) they'll treat you with respect. Doubt this lot have ever shown respect to anyone.
Sheffield Wednesday have always been a nasty club. I don't wish them to fold but I don't wish them well.1 -

I think it was a John Richards hat trick.1 -

But if anyone's going to attribute the behavior of a minority of idiots to literally hundreds of thousands of people dating back one and a half centuries, and happy to see them go out of existence - then it says more about that person tbh.6 -
I don't think more than one or two have said they want them out of existence.
More that they won't be supporting their protests and would be quite happy for them to get their comeuppance by getting relegated.
NB although their idiots are a minority ie less than 50%, they are a very sizeable minority.
It's just that a minority of our fans posting on here have been lucky enough to have not met their idiot minority.
In terms of idiot minorities they are in a pack behind Millwall, Leeds, W Ham, Chelsea etc, but they are up there in the bunch of biggest c*%ts going.10 -

If you experienced that era you fully understand some of the comments on here.
If on the other hand you are too young to have lived in that era then you have no idea what it was like.
Some of us have a strong dislike for Sheffield Wednesday because of what has happened down the years but I doubt you will understand why.15 -

We have some dick heads too especially at away games but pale into insignificance compared to the long list of these idiots.
I don't want them to go out of business, but a year or two of humble pie would be good for them.
Just hope our players are up for it Saturday.6 -
Hadnt cared much before reading this thread! Why does barry banan dislike us?! Palace stick?0

I spent 3 years in Sheffield and met plenty of Wednesday fans, the ones I met were all sound.
As for all the talk of what happened in the 1970's.. it was 45-55 years ago. The worlds moved on somewhat since then.
Anyway, I hope we thump them.6 -

Sheffield Wednesday are a very well supported club in terms of numbers, but all that means is the numbers on the extreme end of the c*nt spectrum are higher in absolute terms, as well as being very high on the delusion quotient. Over the years, way back to relatively recently, they have shown us nothing other than aggression and contempt.
As you sow so shall you reap. F*ck’em.18 -
As a long-time Charlton supporter, I just wanted to write a short note of support to all Sheffield Wednesday fans ahead of your protest at The Valley this Saturday. I’ve always had a soft spot for Sheffield, it’s a fantastic city. My son went to university there, so I got to know it well, and I’ve seen Charlton play at both Hillsborough and Bramall Lane a few times over the years.
my first game at The Valley was in 1970, so I’ve lived through some of football’s darker times. I still remember being in a barber’s when the Hillsborough disaster unfolded, and watching Heysel happen live on TV memories that still sit heavily. I don’t feel any nostalgia for those days of hooliganism, i was there at “Battle of the Bridge,” Bristol City in the FA Cup & Leeds 1987 play-off at Elland Rd. Thankfully, that side of football is mostly behind us.
That’s why I hope Saturday’s Wednesday protest is passionate but peaceful. It’s important that fans have a voice especially when it comes to ownership and the direction of their club. Charlton supporters know more than most what it’s like to feel powerless while poor decisions are made above our heads. We’ve lived through our own battles and we’ve come out stronger for it.
Even with clubs we’ve had rivalry or tension with I’d never wish them to fold. Football is about emotion, belonging, and community. I thope Wednesday fans get the change they deserve.

If we held a grudge against every football team because of run-ins with its fans during the 60s, 70s and 80s we’d be Millwall. We’re not. Personally I think Sheff Wed could already be fucked but I’m a Charlton fan, I know what it’s like when your club is in that position. If they are going to fill the away end then good on them, they might as well make the most of it because there wont be too many games next season where they will get 3,000 tickets.

I think Banan also hates us as our comms team took the absolute piss on Twitter about a miss he or something he did during one of our games... they ridiculed it if I remember correctly. So he wasn't happy about that and when we got relegated he tweeted about us being relegated along the lines of good riddance or something.
