Suddenly can't watch work related DVDs on my PC or lap top as says I don't have the right software.

What do I need and where can I get it cheap/free/quickly?

  • Flv player is free and plays most formats. I'm pretty sure it has DVD playback for "work related" DVDs.

  • I know vlc player (type it into google) plays pretty much every file type so I guess it plays DVDs but not certain....useful program to have nonetheless

go to the website of the pc manufacturer, search on downloads for that model you can often download the original build software which may include dvd software with codecs - important - try it..

FLV, free download via google, or windows media player classic version is quite good for it.

It does annoy me when people ask, 'where do I find it?' When they have blatantly not making any effort to find it themselves!

If I google for a software I get 10,000 advert sites trying to flog me something or make me register.

hence the request for a particular site.

That's going to help - Henry's asked for one site, he's complained about getting 10,000 and you've offered him 15.7 million!

If Realplayer/Windows Media Player don't work it may be that the ability to play DVDs has been disabled.

Sounds like a region lock issue. Like others have said try VLC player, plays everything and will update all your codecs during installation.

Try a DVD you know has worked before, if it doesn't work then it's possible a virus called funlove has infected your machine...
  • n there i was thinking that if i got funlove on youporn.com it was a good thing......

think it might be an old software issue.

Got it re-recorded and it seems to work on more uptodate versions of Windows Media Player but not mine.
