His exclusion is a little suspicious. We paid money for him, so you would think there is some belief in his ability. But it's a long old season, anything can happen.killerandflash said:
JRC has played SEVEN minutes in 12 league games, despite us being able to bring 5 subs from the bench, and him being able to play both in midfield or at right wingback. That doesn't look like someone NJ rates.Scoham said:I get the suggestion of a first choice CM, but I don’t expect a back up to come in - still feels too early to write off JRC or Anderson doing that job to me.
NJ had the difficult choice of who to play when he gave Coventry a rest. I wouldn’t read too much into it, I don’t see it as proof he doesn’t rate JRC or Anderson. It was only recently Apter didn’t even get off the bench.
We’ve got some really strong competition which has meant some players have barely played. For the same reason it’s also too early to say Knibbs won’t do well for us.

In pre-season he played the Coventry role, I thought it would be a given that he would step in if Coventry ever missed a gameChunes said:

Maybe there’s an injury he’s carrying we don’t know about, but it was odd that he didn’t start Saturday if he’s fine0 -
Maybe, but we’ll have a better idea after seeing how things play out over a full season as at some point he may get his chance over a few games, and he might even do so well he keeps his place. Same for Knibbs, Apter, Tanto etc.killerandflash said:

I think it’s become clearer he’s seen as an alternative to Coventry and Docherty, neither who deserve to be dropped. Agree it’s strange he’s not had more time off the bench though. For now he’s still making the squad ahead of Anderson.
Of course it could go the other way with him being sold or loaned out in January!

JRC was poor in the cup games, don't know if that has swayed Jones at all, because he has hardly had a minute since.2

think he's a number 8 not Cov cover1

Think Bree has shown a bit too much form. There will be plenty looking at him, with much bigger pockets.0

Anyone reckon there’s a chance we get both Bree and Fukuda in January instead of one or the other?Obviously that gives us 3 RWB’s but the fact Bree can play RCB as well could be an excuse to say Bree can cover Ramsay but just play him RWB when they’re both fit and Burke can cover Jones.Jones has always stated he likes squads of 25 we have a current squad of 24. With the fact Godden Anderson and JRC Berry have had hardly any mins suggests numbers wise we’re fine in midfield and up top so could always be an option to bring in an extra defender.Bree obviously needs no introduction why we should try to keep him but the same time I really like the idea of signing a player from the Japanese league0

I laughed at the Aribo suggestion, presuming he was starting every game for Southampton.Henry Irving said:Bamford on a free.
Aribo on loan if Southampton subside his wages.
Sign Bree on a perm.
Keep Anderson and Fullah in the building.Shocked to see he's not even been in the squad unless he's injured.0 -
If none of our strikers are scoring goals by January, I think we may see a few players shipped out in order to bring in a Championship level striker.
Apter and Knibbs do not seem to fit our system, so they may be in the frame to go, especially as we have a lot of midfield cover. That would be a bit brutal, I know, but we have brought a lot of League One players into the Champ and at the moment only Coventry, TC and Carey look really up to it, apart from the defenders and those who have already been at Champ level, Bree, Docherty and Burke. The jury still out on Leaburn, Olaofe and Kelman. Anderson cannot get into the 18.0 -

There will not be players leaving the club in Jan apart from one or two on loan who not getting any game time like Anderson .. … TC looks up for it when was that ?Southbank said:If none of our strikers are scoring goals by January, I think we may see a few players shipped out in order to bring in a Championship level striker.
